unable to connect to vehicle interface.???

I for some reason can not seem to get my ecu downloaded, Everytime I try this is the message I get"unable to connect to vehicle interface"

The blue arrow (read from ecu's flash memory) is lit up like it should be but when I click that is all I get.

It has been years since I have played with this so I may be forgetting something, I can get evoscan to work if that helps any?

I did not try to use them at the same time so it has the full attention of the cable.

Do you have and older evoscan openport cable? I had a similar problem. I got a new cable from evoscan, and everything is working just fine now.

Yes it is a few years old but It worked then so I am unsure why it would not work now?

Ok this is really getting fustrating, I am sure someone has to have an idea where to look?

I can't believe the lack of support in this section, I started to get in to this because at the time it looked like there was tons of support but I can't even get my rom to dl to my computer.

What gives here?

If you are having trouble here you are welcome to visit the ecuflash / openecu forums... we're all doing this for free

Try v-1.29, if that works then you need to update your cable or get a new one.

Yea sorry if came off a little upset but it just seems like whenever I post a tech ?? on this forum it usally ends up just sitting un answered for ever which is kind of hard for a diy guy like myself who usally just needs a point in the right direction

Do I have to erase the newer version and then dl the new?
Where on openecu.org do I get the older version?

Thanks for the response!!

Make sure you double check your COMM ports.

I just reloaded 1.29a the other wk and I got the same error. Than I rechecked my COMM port and it was wrong, quick fix.

What operating system are you using? I had this problem. I checked all my fuses made sure all the wires in the back were in tight and it suddenly worked again. It is probably something easy to fix and a pain in the wazoo to figure out.

EcuFlash 1.29a

Finally got EcuFlash 1.29a here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...e-link-me.html

Reading the ECU finally worked. V1.41 did not.

I can read ECU with 1.29, but no luck with 1.42. What exactly has changed in the cable?
