1.42 saying unable to connect to vehicle interface

So I tried reading my rom, and this is what I get. At first even evo scan wasn't working but got that figured out. When I'm hooked up it recognizes my cable in the lower right corner. But as soon as I go to read that message goes up. I did just switch from vista to windows 7. In evo scan I had to chane the com port for it to work. From what I read ecuflash should auto find the tactrix and read off it. Again I gave 1.42 and got the cable from evoscan last October. Help me out. This is frustrating

I have the same issue, and I couldn't resolve it. I need to use an older version of ecuflash to read and write the ROM, while I use a new version to edit the files.

You can get ecuflash 1.29a at http://ecurom.googlecode.com/svn/tru..._setup129a.exe and this is the one I use.

Tried again last night with a freshly charged battery, and even tried nice when the car was running. No dice! I'm gonna try 1.29 later tonight I hope that resolves my issues.

It's most likely an issue with your drivers. Make sure only the driver for the cable you are using is being installed. If you're running openport 2.0, uninstall the drivers and reinstall only the 2.0 driver. Evoscan will prompt an install of both 2.0 and 1.3 drivers, and if you install both you may run into issues such as this.

Bump!

I have this issue. I can read and write with version 1.29, but the tune I have now need 1.42 so I can see it properly.

V1.42 just says

[09:23:42.459] Using interface OpenPort 1.3 Universal TX2ET13C355f74c50f86ec343b35b91b3d4ec9824cbdec0d
[09:23:42.459] interface close
[09:23:42.469] unable to connect to vehicle interface

Any ideas?

Car is an evo 6 with evo 7 ecu. Cheers.

Yes it would seem that way! Really annoying. If I knew that I would have bought a 2.0 cable.

1.3

You probably have the 1.3R cable that doesn't have the ecuflash license. If so, you need the 1.3U.

Did you buy it used on the forum?

do you have the wideband cable plugged in to the laptop too? because i know my laptop/ecuflash 1.42 will only flash the ecu if only the tactrix cable is plugged in by itself.

That could be the problem, I bought an R cable. Any way of paying for the license and getting it to work?

Just to add my 2cents to this.

I use an OpenPort 2.0 cable and my ECUFlash is version 1.43.3252

I find that if I have my microSD card inserted into the OpenPort, I cannot connect to the ECU either.

Take out the microSD card and everything is ok.
