My car had the 94170015 "p0300" fix dealer reflash on it when I bought it. Unfortunately not all of the tables show up properly and I don't want to try modifying them in case they are a completely different table. What I was wondering is if it's possible to burn a rom from a 2005 (say like a 96940011) onto my 2003 model ecu? I tried converting back down to the older 94170008 flash, and sure enough...p0300 code glaring at me withing 15 minutes of driving. I'm starting to get a little annoyed with this (seeing that I really need to raise my boost cut limit, and it so happens to be one of the screwed up tables), and pretty much every other rom I open with EcuFlash seems to be fine with all the tables. Anyone have any ideas here, because I'm running out of them.

You can flash an '04 ROM, but I don't think you could flash an '05 ROM to it. I believe that the ECU itself changed in '05.

Interesting. Maybe someone more knowledgeable could chime in on what I've heard about the '05 ECU.
So wait a min now I can some how burn My GFs 04 Rom Id to my 03 94170008 and no more P0300.
Somebody please PM me the particulars on this and how. As for the ROM ID cant you just use correct one in ECUFlash to get the tables right

Yeah, but that's an '05 ecu and rom on an '03 car. I need to keep my '03 ecu and try an '05 rom. I'll give it a shot anyway and see.Originally Posted by Dapper Dan

the 03-05 ecu's are the same.... the only difference in the rom is that the 05s have the vin number encoded into the rom...

Well, I tried flashing the '05 rom anyway, and guess what...it doesn't work. SES light doesn't even turn off, nor do any of the other dash lights. Actually the only light that didn't come on was for the immobilizer, but probably only because I changed it to match mine.Originally Posted by Dapper Dan

If you go to the AktiveMatrix website you can download the stock dealership "p0300" fix flash, it's the 94170015 rom ID. Only issue I've been having with this rom (because it's the one that was on my car when I bought it) is the boost cut table doesn't show up right. It's a little strange to me, I've tried changing the endians with no luck, and it still has the same parent base and address's as the 94170008 ID that shows up perfectly fine.Originally Posted by gsrboi80

Wouldnt that be due to an address in the XML file being wrong? How is the flash working for the P0300

That's what I'm thinking, that the address is wrong but so far I can't find any info on what it could be.Originally Posted by gsrboi80

The flash seems to work well, as I never had any P0300 codes until I "downgraded" to the 94170008 rom. Once I did that I had 5 listings for it and 1 pending. I swapped back to the 0015 and haven't seen one yet. If you have cams you might see if anyway, but that's pretty much with any rom you use.
Yea its cammed.
I only get it at idle anymore. Not too often.
I had a flash a while back from XXX tuner and I would get it at highway speeds. Havent had one at speed in a year or more now. Maybe it was related to the timing map but Ive since deleted that file from my laptop
Thanks for the helpful info man. NE PA FTW

Here's a little something I found interesting between the original 94170008 and the upgrade 94170015 roms...

I looked through the rest of the knock maps, and the rest are identical between the 2 roms. Only these 2 have different values.
FYI, these are both stock roms, I was in process of swapping values when I came across this, so no values were changed here.

in the 0008 the first column is scewed because one of the address in the xml file is wrong. So in that case if everything was shifted left on column they would be the same
