EvoScan + PLX M-300

The PLX M-300 has two analog outputs from the control box; the first is a 0-5v readout that will feed just about any stand alone Engine Management Systems or dataloggers; the second is a 0-1v output which will feed your stock ECU.

That is pretty much straight from a vendors website. I don't understand how EvoScan reads a WideBand o2, so I'm not sure if the first output is helpful or not. The second output can be hooked up the stock ECU, would EvoScan be able to read the data from the ECU as an actual wideband, instead of the stock narrowband?

I'm trying to understand this information, but as long as I've been working on and modifying cars, I've never used tuning software like this. I've only used plug-n-play devices (ECU+, DSMLink, S-AFC, MAF-T, etc.). So I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot, I'm just trying to figure out a way to hook up the M-300 which is already on the car, instead of going out and buying a whole new WideBand setup.

Thanks for the help.

-Bill

That sounds interesting....Imagine if we can just have an aftermarket wb02 provides feedback directly to the stock ecu....I would think it will involve a extensive patch that needs to be updated in order for this to work, if it's feasible after all

0-1v is narrowband, and every Wideband kit I know of is capable of doing this so you can keep the stock ECU happy if you are replacing a factory positioned O2 sensor.

0-5v is wideband, and there's no use in sending this to the ECU.

But regardless, those are both analog outputs. EvoScan communicates through a digital serial connection (COM port) directly to the Wideband controller. As far as I know, it cannot utilize analog signals such as those above.

As far as I know, EvoScan only supports Innovate, AEM, and Zeitronix for wideband logging.

I'm also not even sure the PLX-M300 has a digital output, because if it doesn't, it's only useful as a visual aid, which kind of sucks IMHO. If it DOES have a digital output and has some software to log it, you'll have to do two simultaneous logs, one with the PLX software and one with EvoScan, and do your best to match them up
