EcuFlash: can xml tables be written for use on other vehicles?

I've been getting this question quite a bit lately, with the majority of them coming from newer Honda and Acura owners. Can new vehicle specific .xml tables be written to access other vehicles other than Mitsu/Subaru/Mini with the current EcuFlash program? I know the newer Honda/Acura ecu's are now flash writable, just wondering about the possibilities of this program.

If ECUFlash can be extended/is going to be extended to support the custom flashing protocols those vehicles use then it should be possible. The xml is the least of the worries at this point...getting it to connect to those ECUs first...

Good point. I'm not exactly sure what protocol they run and Hondata pretty much has a lock on the market for them right now. I'm in contact with a highly experienced tuner that can hopefully help out with that though. I'd really like to see this program expand to as many venues as possible, IMO it's one of the best I've ever used.

Colby and co will decide that. AFAIK (and I stand to be corrected) the code still isn't true public open source where anyone can go and get it and then modify it. If it was, then it would just take some dedicated members from other communities to do the same process.
