how much timing increase
thanks for the response, I will decrease timing just a tad, after looking at my map, it looks like I cant smooth things out more, I think their might be to much a timing jump. thanks guys.
Ahh, you're right...I must have missed that, thought he had an 8.
And why is that? I've always read and found that the higher the rpm, the lower the engine's VE tends to be after reaching it's peak VE, not to mention efficiency of the turbo and heat production above the said VE. Yes, you will have more timing advance than peak torque range due to the rpm speed being great (dealing with the physical time it takes the coil discharge to reach the plug in relation to engine rpm, etc.), but it's already been established that the stock high octane timing numbers are pretty aggressive, and become even more so as higher load percentages are being hit and held. I only meant to dial the timing back a bit from the stock numbers if he's hitting a higher load percentage than he was in stock form for the higher rpm range.
