Evocan help

so i just started learning about tuning, etc.

my xml file has been adjusted to log 2 byte load,

i am getting knock at certain rpms. how do i know where to pull timing?

is it as simple as viewing the graph in evoscan (not the maptracer) showing engine rpm, timing advance, 2 byte load and knocksum?

for example lets say at 5000rpm ...i get 10 counts of knock at engine load 200.

do i just go to the cell and pull 3* of timing? (1*=3 counts of knock)

Thanks guys i have a feeling lots of questions are gonna follow!! please be lenient i am just trying to learn.

Basically you are correct, yet there are many things to consider. The ecu interpolates between surrounding cells in the tables. But essentially, you would find the cell (and surrounding cells) that corresponds to the rpm, load and knocksum you logged and retard timing.

But first you should read this:

Really good guide for beginners, I really wish it was around when I started.

Did you get a WB02 yet?

from what i understand u need to fix all the cells around the cell where is getting knock....right? to get it smooth?

also, how does this maptracer thing work i never used it! dont know how to!

Exactly, smooth is very important. Never used a maptracer. Search evoscan maptracer, there are a few threads concerning it.
