Wrecked tactrix cable?
Well my buddy's laptop had honda managment on it and we threw ecu flash and mitsulogger on it. well when we plugged in the cable it said "Found: Hondata S300 ECU" ok so it must be conflicting drivers right? well we uninstalled everything that says hondata and it still did it. so i grab another laptop and it still saw "Honda S300 ecu" i tried resetting my ECU and it still did it. Any help?
This is a Windows driver problem.
Make sure ECUFlash is installed.
This easy way may work:
1) Plug in the cable
2) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager
3) Find the "Honda S300 ECU" entry, it will probably be listed as a COM Port, but maybe as Universal Serial Bus
4) Right click and Uninstall, but do NOT unplug the cable
5) Right click somewhere in the device list and "Scan for hardware changes". See if it gets picked up as OpenPort.
If that doesn't work, this should:
1) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager
2) Find the "Honda S300 ECU" entry, it will probably be listed as a COM Port, but maybe as Universal Serial Bus
3) Right click > Update Driver > "Not at this time" > "Advanced" > "Don't search" > "Have Disk" > "Browse" for the C:\Program Files\OpenECU\ECUFlash\Drivers\x86 folder and see if it finds the OpenPort driver
