need advice on my tune
i just logged for the first time since i put my engine back in with new 9:0 comp pistons, rods, 280's,springs and retainers, ported throttle body/intake manifold, and hybrid power intercooler kit. right now im running 93 oct and only 21psi. id like to turn the boost back up to 24psi. my question is on my first log it was 39 degrees out and i had 4 counts of knock at 5200rpm and it tappered from there to 0 by redline. if i turn the boost back up to 24 would this relieve the issue or should i just lean out my fuel maps at those rpms. sorry im new at tunning and trying to figure out whats best. i had no knock until the 5200.
You should do as much reading as possible on the EcuFlash forum.
Do you have a wideband?
What is controlling boost?
Are you logging boost?
Are you already tuned or are you on a stock ROM?
Don't start leaning out the fuel map if you don't understand exactly what's going on. If anything, you may need to richen the map to get rid of that knock.
You should be logging 2 Byte Load and you should have a wideband so you can dial in precise AFRs (targeting 11.5:1 on 93 is typical).
Turning up the boost means you will be hitting different portions of your fuel & timing maps...

i have a wideband sitting at home i havent had time to install it yet, maybe wed i can get it in. i have a modded map that before the engine build i was at 0 knock across the board. i am gonna b upgrading to an aem for my next round of mods so for now im just trying to lower the knock until the next round than i can take it to get tunned with the aem.
Your fuel trims must be WAY off. Perfecting fuel trims and intake calibration are probably the most time consuming part of tuning. I would try to get that under control - by a professional - before turning any boost up. You shouldnt be far from Ivey or Buschur, i would try to get with one of them to get the car somewhere safe.

once i hit boost my afr drops to 10.0 so i let off. ive tried riching up the fuel but it hasnt done anything yet. im gonna log my injector duty and c how that looks. i thought i could run stock injectors with the bc 280s?
what wideband do you have? 10.0 may be the lowest it can read so you could be richer
give us rpm vs wideband afr's or datalog the wideband with your logger
also I would take turco advise log fuel trims using mitsulogger
Idle for a good 5-10 minutes, after being warmed up. Check the LTFT Lo & 02 feedback.
Then the next log Cruise for a good 10 minutes, even speed. Check LTFT Mid & 02 feedback.

10 is rich. You want to lean it out to more like 11:1. Chances are your wideband does not read richer than 10:1, that is all you are seeing. Go read the thread 'how to tune your evo' that is stickied at the top of this forum. After you finish reading it, read it again. Then, go play with your car a little, and go back and read it again. Am I making myself clear? READ and become knowledgeable with what you are doing BEFORE YOU BREAK SOMETHING.

sounds like you are going to have a neat motor.
everybody just wants to make sure you get to use it before it goes boom.
it does sound like you need to understand the afr thing before you do any tuning. there are some gems of knowledge in the forum's databank. or there are tons of internet sites that can start you in the right direction.
if you are anything like the rest of us, your patience is smaller than your "get er done attitude". If that is the case let someone else get your maps dialed in or at least towards safe. Then as you develop an understanding of tuning and your car evolves further you can enjoy the process of playing with ecuflash. don't worry there is almost always a reason to do another log and look for or make a map adjustment.
