adding fuel: % vs. ratio

Hey guys, I was wondering if this is correct...

I want to add 6% fuel to make up for a fuel which is oxygenated, I may be oversimplifying this, but say for example:

My afr is 12.0 right now on race fuel, I want to add 6% for the new race fuel, so 12*0.06 = .72 or in other words I need to add (subtract) about 0.8 to my maps to compensate for the new fuel and arrive back at 12.0 on the wideband? So if I'm in ECU flash at 10.0 for example, I take it down .8? (9.2)

I am thinking of adding a whole point and starting there to dial them back in... is my understanding of afr correct here or am I going to end up with it way off

If you want to add 6% fuel, you would need to LOWER the map by .8. I think that simple math is a good start. I'd say go down by .9 ot 1.0 to be safe then dial up as you said because the map value isn't actually the AFR.

Ratios confuse me sometimes too. Gotta remember Air:Fuel and not Fuel:Air. Let us know how it works out. You math should be correct unless the stoichiometry of the new fuel is different.
