Thats interesting to know because these are supposed to be the exact same pins from the exact same manufacturer. I have NO Evo IX owners that live close to me so I never got to make any comparison in person, only from measurements via other owners on the forums.

It also helps if I ever need to disconnect it since I used a blade connector for this.
I suggest 22 gauge wire. Thats the best fit overall for these pins. Anything larger and you won't really be able to crimp over the insulation with the rear crimp tabs.

Nearly the entire crimp tab in the rear is visible above the plug, whereas the stock pins sit about 3/64 in to the plug itself. It's almost like the rear tab shouldn't be there at all.

But, the pin sits correctly and makes a good connection. The lock also fits correctly over the pin.

It clips in correctly as well, but I actually broke mine (not sure if it was the pin or the plug) removing the pin the first time. Since it wasn't fully inserted as I'd expected, I tried to remove it and the wire slipped out of the pin. So, I used pliers to remove it and broke the latch. With the lock in place it doesn't move though.

The 18 ga I used worked out great. It is a little larger than the other wires but it fit the pin snugly and there were no clearance issues.

The pins are exactly the same as the pins that are used with the stock harness.

I forgot to make a post earlier this week but the last of the EVO IX pins were sent out to the people who pre-purchased an EVO VIII Alt-Map Harness from me. If you don't get any within the next few days, PM me. So far people have been safely getting them in the mail so I'd expect them VERY soon. Don't be alarmed if you get an envelope from Rhode Island with a small ziplock baggy taped inside. Bnice thought someone sent him some Anthrax or something, lol. I sent everyone a single pin with an inch of wire already installed, along with 2 uncrimped pins. Thanks guys!

Hey guys, considering making my own harness. Just have on quick question and don't really have time to read 1000+ post. Are the resistors getting hot at all? If so what did you use to keep them from burning holes in other wires? Thanks in advance.
