9gsr, flashing any rom

i managed to lose a drive that contained a standard rom that i had saved from car was working on, and then tried to flash in another rom file from same, a 9gsr, however it wouldnt work. So i flashed in a different 9gsr rom that i had saved from another car, and it worked fine, init code and immob codes were def not the same

everything fine, car tuned, works ok, but still unsure how this worked??

Immobiliser isn't enabled on the UK/JDM IXs that I've come across.

Not sure why one of your 9 GSR files didn't work, maybe it was corrupt, incomplete or the wrong ROM ID? I can't think of another explanation.

All ECU flashes have potential for unexplained weirdness whether open source or commercial, even when CRC32 checksums are fine. Battery voltage can cause all sorts of problems, as can corrupt RAM after a flash, a reset rather than a reflash is what that needs. Sometimes you just need to try until it works. Unscientific, but the nature of the beast.
