lean in first but more then enough fuel in second??

I have recently started tuning my car and have been trying to work out a lean (12.0-12.2ish) condition at some parts of first gear mainly 5000-5500 rpms at around 230 load. I have gotten the afrs down to 11.2-11.3 at this point which is fine for me but now my fuel map in this area has been richened up all the way to 7.4 ie no more fuel left. Seeing this I installed a walbro 255, this helped a very small bit in this area but even so with the map at 7.4 ill see a 10.9. But now when I shift into second the car goes to 10.0 and stays there pegged. This shows that i have more then enough fuel. Before I go and lean the car out in those areas(second gear( i want to fix the first gear issue first. any ideas???

i was thinking that maybe this could be because maybe my car isn't under enough load in 1st gear to trigger the ecu to up the fuel pump voltage , the reason i say this is because once the car sees load in 2nd it goes dumb rich

yeah dont worry about 1st/2nd, tune AFR for 3rd - check on 4th.

it gets richer the higher the gear...

With lean spool on, It will also be richer in each higher gear during a "drag" type pull hitting gears to gears compared to if you are just doing a single gear pull from lower rpm.

if you turn lean spool off, it won't get so rich in each gear additional anymore.

I imagine this is what you are seeing happen currently.

^^ yeah as soon as I saw the title I was going to say seems like classic lean spool behaviour to me.
