As title really, just wondering if any of the guys that are good at disassembly would be willing to take a look at an evo 5/6 rom (H8) and make up a good definition file for it.

I've got as far as finding the fuel and timing tables and that is it.

I can't even find the load or rpm scaling for them.

I know the roms can't be written to the ecu yet (and it might not ever be possible with ecuflash) but it would be nice to see whats in there, and how it compares to the evo 7 roms that I use on my 6

 

For a look just for interest it probably isn't worth the time, I certainly can't find the time as you need to read up on the CPU and get your disassembler settings up and running. I suspect it would probably take a whole week of solid work on it to get a nice disassembly.

Same applies to the X, until you can read and write it and test on real cars it isn't attracting a huge amount of work.

 

It was just an idea, as I know I am not the only 1 that would like to beable to see inside these roms.

Everyone was waiting on colby to update ecuflash to work with the H8. Besides pulling the rom there's been no update. I guess you pulled yours and would like to take a peek. No one can wait any longer...the best solution for guys with IV,V and VIs is to run the VII ecu.

Does anyone know if it's feasible to use an 8 ECU on these models? I have a couple spare US market, but I'm worried about using them because of the emissions control and encountering CEL. Thinking it might be able to work with the Tephra Mod 88590015? What do you guys think? The JDM VIs don't have a secondary 02 sensor to my knowledge.

 

most of us are using VII ecus but would still like to see inside V/VI ,,,, i ran an VIII ecu on my IV for a while but got egr flow cel every now and again, didnt worry about emission control as they only use tail pipe sniffer for emission test here,IV/V/VI dont have second O2 sensor.
