My car was un-tuned
My car was un-tuned
Without naming names, here is my issue.
I bought my car with a few mods, AMS did the original tune. Things were fine. I installed cams and a LICP and took it somewhere that I thought was reputable to get tuned. I've had a few small problems since, but nothing major. They actually started on the dyno, but I figured I would get them sorted out afterwords. Long story short, I got a tactirx cable and hooked it up today. My tune is almost identical to an '05 stock .hex file.
My question is is there any chance my tune could come out to this close to what a stock tune would look like? And if not, has any damage been done in the past 3 weeks of driving it? I know normal driving wouldn't hurt too much, but accelerating to redline wouldn't be good I would imagine..

The stock tune is pretty conservative, so if you have retained the stock air box it is unlikly your car has suffered any damage, best to get the AFRs checked with a wideband and do some runs to log any knock.

I don't have the stock airbox. I did just do a few runs and logged knock. Seems I'm only hitting 1 random one from time to time...so the tune seems to be right? I can't believe it would be so close to a stock tune. Something doesn't seem right. The only thing that has changed is low octane fuel map, that's it.
Humm, that doesn't make any sense.
Take it to another place to get tuned, specially since you have cams, usually these will cause the tune to have to run a couple of degrees less of timing up top, at least that's what I have seen for the most part.

Only thing you've done is waste fuel/power. What was the boost set to? I'd like to see what your fuel / timing maps look like.
Also, without naming names "Payne Tune" ...who are they? Guess that's a good name for a tuning company that doesn't tune lol

Boost is set to about 22/23. Here are my maps. Left side is from the stock 96940011 file and the right side is what I pulled off my car.

It is clearly different, nothing significant but it's still been modified. Pm me the .hex file's of before and after I wanna see how rough it is in graph format.
