aquamist hfs1 + tephra mod 5.10 problem.

hey guys i have been having this stupid problem for about 2 months now. i have the aquamist hfs1 kit and gm solenoid and tephras mod plus the special wire harness that jack_of_trades made for me so i can just turn on the aquamist kit and boost 28(orwhatever)psi (makes it so much easier IMO)

however the car will NOT run anything past 20psi on the alt maps. it works just fine on the reg one (boosting 20) but as soon as i turn on the meth kit it doesnt go past that at all. (yes the kit+wiring is all correct. the ICS light (green one) blinks just fine). and NO i do not have any boost leaks.

so has ANYONE had this problem, and or know how i can fix this? its becoming quite annoying. i have tired talking to scheides about the problem but after i sent him my map he kinda disappeared lol.

((if anyone wants to see my map give me your email and ill send it to you))

thanks

So you logged that the maps are 100% switching to the alt-maps yet the ECU is still using the BDEL table from the standard maps instead of the Alt maps, correct?

Good point, if the ICS light is blinking it should be switched in the ECU. I am just starting to mess with the ecu controlled boost in the 94170015 rom as well so I will have to see if Im getting these issues soon.

Dude, back up! We talked about this already. You said that even on the base maps, you could not run more than 20psi. You need to solve that problem before you can expect the alt maps setup to make it past 20psi as well. Go take specific pictures of your setup, including the lines running to/from the GM BCS, where they go, and pics of your wiring.

Sorry scheides, you misread what he said. His problem is its reading off of the Max WGDC & BDEL tables for the standard maps when he has it in the Alt Maps. Draconx, try adjusting your standard WGDC table down about 20% and zero out your error correction table and see if the car car runs the same boost in both maps just to confirm what I said is true. If it runs lower boost (say 12-16 psi) with the lower WGDC in both the Alt maps and the standard maps, thats the issue.

Also, confirm that the address' for your WGDC tables and BDEL tables are as follows:

Alt Maps:
MWGDC= 39138
BDEL= 39158

Standard Maps:
MWGDC #1= 44a0
BDEL #1=44f8

This is of course assuming that you tuned the MWGDC and BDEL tables in the MOD OPTIONS section for the alt map tune, right?

ok, so you can boost 24psi on the base map? What are the WGDC tables required to do 20 vs 24? Have you logged wgdc to see if it is maxed out ever?

You need to provide a lot more information.

1) What are you using to control boost? Stock solenoid? 3-port? Stock pill(s)? Custom pill(s)?

2) What is your BDEL in your Base and Alt maps? If the alt-maps have a lower BDEL then the ECU is working fine, but just making corrects to keep boost low.

3) What do your MWGDC tables look like? Post them.

4) What do your logs look like when logging Base vs. logging Alt? Get logs that show at least Load, WGDC, and Load Error.

He mentioned he is running a GM solenoid in the very first sentence in this thread. I think its kind of important for you guys to not skim through the first post lol.

Please post your desired boost, boost adder/offset and WGDC% maps for both the standard and meth tunes. I don't think anyone can really tell you much w/o that. I haven't heard of anyone else with this issue and many people run that ROM with Tephra 5+.

^ I guess I'm #2 with issues w/ this rom or patch.

My issues: Boost is erratic. One pull in my base pump gas map will come out to 22psi/21psi. WHen I try in my alternate map, same thing(blinking light) boost is still at 22psi, if i switch back to my pump gas map and go back to alternate the boost will stick at 17psi. Now when I start off in my methanol map the boost may go to 22psi or jump up to my desired 25psi on the next pull. Really strange!

I tried mirroring both maps WGDC+BDEL and it still does the same thing.

I am using rom 94170014 patched w/ the V5. Alternate map fueling works fine, just the boost is all screwy.

Any ideas or updates.

I will post my settings when I get back later. Also, this is not a "Turbo Correction Issue" I did the math and have logged my WGDC...it doesn't add up.
