i forgot to mention ive tried to uninstall and reinstall ecuflash a million times but it keeps doing the same thing and i am not that computer savy so i might not be deleting everything that has to do with ecuflash off my computer or something like that. and sorry if this has been covered

like i said i think it has to do with "rom file directory" "color map directory" and "metadata directory" paths. if anyone can give me the paths so i can make sure there right that would really help. thanks guys!!

usually, be default the rom metadata files are in c:\program files\openecu\ecuflash\rommetadata . If they're not there then must be in your user's profile application data directory. Open windows explorer and search for one of the files like '94170008.xml'. This will let you the file path.

try this: Start EcuFlash, select File\Options menu, select Directories\Metadata Directory from the popup dialog, enter rommetadata into the textbox on the right panel and close the dialog.

If it failed, please click on the ... button next to the textbox to see which directory that it's currently default to and let me know.

the rom file directory is the one that you'll save your modified maps to. Usually the default is the "MyData" directory in EcuFlash main directory but you can change it to any directory you want.
