I'll be at the track racing this weekend so I won't be able to attend. I would like it if the evoscan software I paid for actually worked for me before I go...
I have been able to get log works to connect to the LC-1 I have installed with no issues. I am still trying to figure out how logworks 3 handles the openEcu samples that were used in their demos a while back.
A couple of interesting notes that I found while examining this issue.
The bluetooth device will configure a serial port at COM3. It's really difficult to remove, and you can't change the serial port assignment to anything lower than COM3. Ultimately I deleted the COM port from the bluetooth settings. I configured the openport cable as COM1, and my LC-1 as COM2. Log works can detect each COM port.
I have my own code that can communicate with the FTDI chipset, I am going to try that next I guess.
chrisw,
logworks and the openpost 1.3 logging will work with lw3, BUT you have to start the procedure by opening up logworks 2 in order to get openport 1.3.
not sure what you meant the, demos a while back?

got your email chris, thanks!
I talked to Fitz over @ innovative and he set me straight, turns out the driver for the serial-usb cable I was using wasn't loaded... DOAH!

tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice tonight and still nothing. keeps on saying can not connect to ECU. WTF is going on?
EVOScan is recognizing com 1, where i have my open port cable plugged in. it sees the innovative LM1 on com 4 but it just wont connect to my ECU no matter what I try.
I'm getting fed up with this BS
evo4mad, if you won't help how about refunding my damn money and I'll just keep using mitsulogger.

^^^ I found that thread awhile back when I was searching. I did try to set it to super performance mode but that didn't work either. also tried plugging it into an outlet but had the same results. Thanks for the suggestion though.
maybe your solution doesn't work for me cause I have an eeepc 900 and you have a 1000?
