Flashing Problems

I've been using the same rom and files for quite some time now and last night something happened that has happened one other time. Just messing around with some idle stuff and went to reflash the car- didn't make the clicking sound at the end (ABS). After that the car wouldn't start. Tried using different files with no luck, uninstall/reinstall ecuflash with no luck. Has anyone run into this issue before- all it will do is crank with no spark. I tried flashing my friends evo and it worked fine so it's not the cable. Still able to communicate with ecm. When it happened the other time (about a week ago) I was able to get my car running again by flashing 88590013 on there (instead of 88590015). It seemed as though the 15 file was corrupt or something. It has worked fine since that day until now.

Any advice on repairing? I would of thought deleting/uninstalling all files and reinstalling would have taken car of this.

How can a rom be ok and then become corrupt from one flash to another? Just curious. Has anyone tried doing a capacitor discharge on the ecu's with success?

What is SH boot mode? What ever it is it doesn't work on my car. I tried a cap discharge to "erase" some memory on the ecu with no good results. I tried using the other 2 debugging options and that didn't work either. Am I screwed? Do I need a new ECU? I'm freakin out man! I've got my ecu unplugged right now and checked all pins to insure proper fitment. Is there anyway to load the stock rom to flash into the ecu?

you shouldn't need to worry about that.

just get your original ROM and remake the modifications to it, then flash that to the car and see how you go...

My original was deleted when I uninstalled everything. When I reinstalled everything I made the mods to it. How do you load up a rom from the metarom files onto the empty slate of ecuflash?

When I try to drag my stock metadata to ecuflash it comes up with "Unknown ROM image" Then it fives me three options- none work - 2 will cause ecuflash to stop working.

Have you try to charge your battery?
I had a similar problem before, flash procedure was interrupt on its way...
It 's a common problem for a none or corrupt flashing when battery is under 12V...
I personally have a small battery charger plugged to raise voltage a bit when flashing...
Since I do that, it never happened again...
Hope this could help.
Cheers

I even had jumper cables connecting to a running veh and my voltmeter said 14v. I'm going to try a lower version of ecuflash (1.29) and a downloaded rom file.

I was able to connect with using the 1.40 version (not able to connect using 1.29) but the endians are all different for the rom that I downloaded. I suppose I need to change the endian- did a test write and at the end there were alot of No's for matching.
