I checked the box, program installed and it all worked....well least the opening part (need to test logging)

So codgi thank you for questioning me and making me dig deeper.....so far im not totally hating vista but its def. a little more security unfriendly but I will get used to it....

I will post tomorrow if it logs properly.....I have 2.5 and 2.6 opening without any errors so I will test both for logging and report back.
Well glad that worked out. In general for most Vista related problems for most programs (especially those that were written for older windows) i usually suggest that "run as" option first .

E-MAILED LIMITLESS And this is what I got,,
====================================
Message:

Hi Mate,

Evoscan v2.6 beta6 supports vista 64bit

EvoScan v2.6 beta6 software is available here
http://www.limitless.co.nz/evoscan/E...Ev2.6beta6.zip

You can go to the folder c:\program files\evoscan\ and make a copy of the "EvoScan v2.5" folder and rename it to "EvoScan v2.6 beta6" and then extract the EvoScanUPGRADEv2.6beta6.zip over the top of the new "EvoScan v2.6 beta6" folder.

Regards,
Hamish Ahern.

did you read the instructions on the website about the folder permissions? other than that evoscan v2.6 beta6 works fine on Vista.

Ok so lets stat all over...I uninstalled 2.5 and them reinstalled 2.5 And didn't run evoscan 2.5 to enter my email and serial number,,Then I went to c:\program files\evoscan
Clicked evoscan then I right clicked and copied EvoScan_v2.5 and made a copy in the same folder where EvoScan v2.5 is so now I see are EvoScan v2.5 and EvoScan v2.5_copy Then I rename the copy of EvoScan v2.5_copy To EvoScan v2.6 beta6 Then copy and paste the 3 files that are in the EvoScanUPGRADEv2.6beta6 in the copy of 2.5 That I renamed to EvoScan v2.6 beta6.... I'm I missing something,, Still not logging anything all zeros,,,
I hope I didn't confuse you,,

There is only one file for beta6.......I think your doing what I did and copying beta 4 over (thinking its beta 6).

Click the link in the 2.6 thread and copy the exe file into the folder you created and you should be good.

Beta 6 def. does work on 64 bit vista

I have tried evoscan 2.5 and 2.6 beta on my macbook pro with XP and all works EXCEPT the wideband. it doesnt record anything. I tried to get it to work on a native vista machine and got the same errors you described above. I have not gone into the folder permissions yet but I will try it and see if I can get the wide band to work.

I think serial port code is not working on Vista, I will fix it for the next version of EvoScan.

Got everything right and now im into the stangest thing ever. I do my logs and then i go to the Saved Logs folder and i dont see anything! I can only see two sample logs which are there by default. So then i go back to evoscan and try to see the log on the graph to which it opens the SAVED LOGS folder and there it is. I see the log that I did. But when i go back directly to the folder, i only can see the two sample logs.

Searched on the other forums, found out it was something do with Vista Service Pack. The only way to access this file if ya wanna open it in excel is to delete the file and then copy paste it outta the recycle bin.
