numerous tuning and wideband problems
numerous tuning and wideband problems
Oh where to start?
1. My Innovate LC-1 and DB gauge are not working properly. I installed it and it worked flawlessly for about 8 months. Now.....upon startup....the gauge reads 7.4 and very slowly climbs to 15.1 and stays there. Never changes. I got a new
o2 sensor from Innovate, but that didn't work. Same problem. Any ideas?
2. In about early November I started to get this weird knock at rather low to mid rpms at low boost. Basically on normal to somewhat quick exceleration. I was previously tuned (this past summer) but won't mention who. And it was a pretty good tune I thought. I never had any problems like this.
3. At about the same time as #2 started....I couldn't even pass someone on the highway. My car was constantly missing. But it wasn't a fuel cut. It just felt like a miss. Like it was blowing out the spark. So I changed out the plugs. The old ones looked ok. BTW I'm running NGk BPR7ES copper plugs gapped at .026-.027. I was tuned on the same plugs at the same gap. The miss got better but still not 100%. It still misses a lot at high rpms and full boost. Sounds like a drill skipping on a phillips head screw. And its also knocking like crazy up top per my CEL knock light.
4. I was tuned at 24 lbs. of boost. I have since turned down the boost to about 21. I am also running on the 96530006 rom, not the stock 96940011 rom. And I also altered the fuel maps in an attempt to richen up the areas where I think I'm getting the knock.
5. Basically the wideband is not working. Can't post wideband logs. Getting various counts of knock at various rpms and load levels. It's late and I'm tired....so let me know if I left out any pertinent information that might be of use. I can post logs and maps if you need it. I don't think it'll matter to the tuner since I've altered them. Mods are in my sig.
Thanks for any help.

Update.
After numerous times messing with the LC-1, I ended up just buying a new AEM wideband. I can now log AFRs again. All my problems are pretty much the same. Still getting some misc knock at weird rpm and load ranges. (though I havent logged it yet) Its still breaking up real bad at full boost. With high knock counts when it does. It seems to be worse in lower gears. 1st sucks. 2nd sucks. 3rd is a little better. 4th seems ok.
I can post up 2nd and 3rd gear pulls if need be. 2nd was cut short (about 5500 rpms) due to high knock count.
I dont know whats the best way to post that info. If anyone can walk me through posting or attaching an Excel file of the pull that would be great.
Thanks again.

I changed out the plugs once again and gapped them to .025. All seems to to fine now. I have since done some logs and found some small counts of knock here and there. I have been adjusting the fuel and timing maps and got rid of almost all the knock. 1-2 counts every so often but nothing consistent.
