No problem, John. I don't expect to you waste anymore time on this with all of the other stuff that I'm sure you are working on. We have others who can continue on. I just appreciate all that you have contributed.

As far as the 3D table and fuel map, yes I agree for open loop tuning, but closed loop tuning, the fuel map isn't going to help. That's where a 3D VE map will help with the granularity.

If I didn't have so much going on, I would teach myself the ROM code...I have the manual. But I think it would take way too long for me to get up to speed to be able to contribute to a project like this. I guess that's what we have tephra and mrfred and the other disassemblers/coders for.

Thanks,
Eric

When running SD and the AIT is connected via fuel temp pin (and MAF is removed), what does the ECU use for IAT-related tables? Does it substitute the post-IC IAT? Thx.

To my understanding, yes. So, it may be wise to adjust certain tables that retard timing due to intake temps, etc.

Quick question - which MAT scaling should we be using? The values stated under the Tephra section or the values stated under JCS SD Programming section? I noticed they are different and wanted to clarify that.

It appears as though the MAT scaling values under Tephra's section should be copied and paste per JCS instructions in parenthesis - just want to confirm this though.

Thanks

Question for the mod gods.

So lately i've been fine tuning my speed density setup by turning off open loop so i can get a better feel for whats going on during low load where the biggest errors occur. I setup a data item to log the % of deviation between the AFRMap and the logged wideband AFR. But then i came upon this particular oddity.

So I noticed when at idle and low load around 31-33 Load my AFRMap reads 13.8 then jumps to 16.8 alternating every second or so. My fuel map is set to 14.7 so I don't understand why the ECU is spitting out this number.

Help would be appreciated.

Maybe it's that IPW issue that I have been posting about with SD. Is your IPW jumping/dipping during the AFR spike?

It would be interesting if this is the issue. There's nothing that I recall in the SD patch that affects the AFRMAP calculation. l2r, if you find that AFRMAP is the issue, I'll take a look at the AFRMAP routines again.

For me afrmap wasn't the issue. I'm going off of memory, but afrmap was flat in all of my logs during the issue.
