I've finally got my cable to work with both EvoScan and EcuFlash!! But one little thing that bothers me is that my "ABS" goes nuts, even I did have the pin1 pulled out in my cable - so the "ABS" should not flash when my cable is connected, but it does still flash from times to times though, meaning sometimes it flashes, and sometimes it doesn't after I either re-start the car or the laptop or un/re-plug the cable.

Anyone has the same experience?? Knowing why/what is causing it?? Is this something we should get worried for??

 

Never heard of the ABS light flashing but the ACD lights yes...

 

It may flash while you are trying to log the AYC/ABS ecus. Are you sure you pulled the correct pin?

 

That's what I'm worried the most, but I did pull the pin following the exact instructions on the their web site, and my cable does look the same as their picture too.

I believe the pin is starting from right to left as following:
8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
15 14 13 12 11 10 9

And "Pin 9" is the one, right??????????????????????????

Anyone knows what the Pin 9 is supposed to log then?? So that i can double check if that logging function still working. Or, is the Pin 9 being used by the EcuFlash at all...Look what i've done!!

 

Mine does the same thing, I haven't noticed any issues w/ logging though.

 

If you were trying to pull pin 9 and pulled the one on the opposite side of the plug i believe it is accesory power for the flash cable. It is something important, but I believe you wouldnt be able to flash properly if you pulled it. Can you still flash OK?

Note the image at the top there. You are looking at the OBDII plug itself with pin 9 on the lower left. If you were looking at the pins on your cable it would be the lower right.

 

I'm pretty sure that I got the Pin 9 correctly, because my plug is matching to the one shown in their picture on their website. And, so far, both my Ecuflash and EvoScan are able to connect and read "something". As far as flashing, I'm still a junior here and am still learning with all the maps, etc...so I haven't tried it yet. However, I have a good EvoBuddy here who can help me with testig it out later.

Anyone has their pin 9 pulled out as well?? Now that I recall, they do have an option for one with Pin 9 or without Pin 9 when you place an order, and I apparently missed that part so they shipped me the one w/ Pin 9. But then, following their instruction, all you need to do is to twist it off for it to work w/ Mitsu!! Well, then maybe the EcuFlash is not using the Pin 9 at all -
