Hows my Fuel and Timing look ?
Ive had my car tuned at Swift last August with expectations of atleast 350 whp. My mods are in my signature and to say the least I came up short of that never mind base lining a lot lower than I expected also to find out in the end my car wouldnt make any power or torque after 5k. My tq and hp peaked at 3.5k and fell off shortly after.
So after that session and making my way out to Ohio where I met Jack of Trades out there and low and be hold we both live here in RI. On our return we met up and he ran through my car with me. Within a few pulls down the highway he had it pulling right to 7k.
I was very happy and he did it just to help me out and wanted nothing in return. I still owe today being broke atm I havent had much to spare but i will pay him back.
Anyway since then he taught me a lot and got to understand it a lot better. I have since been smoothing my timing and I did my own fuel maps along with smoothing it out.
I have 12.0 afr's upon spool up with 11.5 under WOT it sometimes dips to 11's but never higher than 11.5.

Im just curious if my maps match up with others to see if my car is running strong or ****ty. Its never failed me yet and pulls great. Havent come up against a car yet that has pulled on me. Including m3 , older m5 with v8 not v10, z28 camaro, 5.0 mustang. Hopefully this year Ill get it to the track and hope for high 11's.
Just to note at Swift my car made 320 whp @ 4k and 260 tq @ 4400 and then 270 tq 5600 where it immediatley fell off. Then in Ohio at the shoot out I put it on his MD and it put down 288whp @ 4.5k and 288 wtq @ 5.2k to just about 6.8k.
So on his MD the hp held out but torqued dropped off bad. Wish I could fax the sheets but no scanner.

Looks good bro, but the load spots higher than your target load at each rpm, you should add some fuel and retard timing a few degrees. Reason being you dont want to just tune for a certain load/boost and call it good. By doing this it will create a safety net if boost rises for some reason or you get a spike in load, you wont have to worry about knock.
Ex. in your map at 7k 260-300 load, I know your not hitting that high of a load @ 7k probably 220-230 so retard the timing @ 260 8* 280 7* 300 6*. Remember this is just an example, you can take out timing what you feel is required. I sometimes take out timing after target load in 2 degree incriments. I see you did it to fuel by adding more after the target load.

Timing seems weak for an VIII, you should be able to run 4/5 degrees at least @ peak and then increase from there, really you could be in double digits by 5500/6000 rpms, 5 degrees at 6000 is silly.
Unless you have some mech. issues or something?

"At least 4-5" at peak boost is a little much at 24psi on pump gas on a IX turbo, yeah he can probably get away with more timing thru out the rev range. But every car is different, some you can get away with more timing some you cant. Honestly you cant say "you need to be at x timing at x rpm", alot of other things are taking into account. The only way you can tell is by datalogging. Like your saying double digit timing at 5500, unless he turns down the boost and adds more fuel yes maybe. I dont really see it holding up with the afr he has tuned for, pump gas and 24psi.

Ahh I get what you mean. Your adding fuel or retarding timing before the target areas just in case if I were to get a spike in boost it would be on the edge ? I think I'll take your advice and back it down a degree before my target areas along with making my afr a tad richer.
My innovative wb sensor just recently **** the bed on me again. This is the second sensor for me to die. I dont run race gas ever just straight shell 93. Once I get a wb again Im going to back down my afr down to 11's I think or maybe 11.3. For now Ill back them off .1 or .2 just to be safe like you said.
Bnice do you agree with Travman the timing seems to be low ? I run a ported evo 9 turbo on 24psi daily. Stock exhaust mani and intake mani. When Jack started with me the first time we set the boost and started with a stock map for timing and fuel. Keep fuel the same and adjusted the timing seeing my WB was down at this time also.

So off the top of my head I know my car usually spikes about 280-290 loads and stays at 250 till about 6k where it drop to about 230-220.
Think I can get away with adding a degree in the 250 area ?

You want to add fuel and take out timing after your target load. Your target afr you have now is fine (mid 11's)
Yes you can get away with more timing at the 250 load area to 6k and 220-230 at 7k but the only way to truly tell is datalogging.

Yah Im made those changes and ill flash the car. Its raining today so I wont be going out. lol. That and I need to get a new wideband. If one more innovative sensor goes im changing to zeitronix or aem.

It was just my opinion/observation I wasn't telling him what to do it was merely a guideline to get an idea what to work towards if the car is capable of it and I know how every car is different and how it all works - not a newb to all of this.
