Do all 8&9 ECU's have an ICS light output?
Do all 8&9 ECU's have an ICS light output?
Hey guys, trying to figure out if we can add an LED for users without the ICS feature (mostly USDM Evo 9 guys) which can turn on when the ECU is indeed in the alt maps. Also, if anyone already knows whether the ECU pinout goes to ground to actitvate the light or to +12Vdc (my gutt feeling says it goes to ground).
Also, if anyone knows of any other Evo8 or 9 versions that didn't come standard with the ICS feature beside the USDM 9's.
Thanks guys

I have been told there is a rear fog light light in the gauge cluster but i would need to verify. You could ask trustz what all the lights are in the gauges, i know you can actually see them in most of his clusters.
Sorry, I wasnt clear......I need to know if the ECU has an "output" for an ICS light on all Evo8 and Evo9 versions globally so I can use it to activate a seperate LED. I'm not concerned with the physical light in the gauge cluster in the dash.
I guess the easiest way to find out is if some KIND SOUL wanted to see if they can test the ECU pinout location for the ICS light on a non-USDM ECU's and see if their USDM ECU has any output.
Its pin #90 according to this pinout diagram HERE.

Hmm, well you run an Evo 9 ECU in that I think but I'm not certain. I gotta test my Evo8 and see which pin is for the ICS lamp output. Its Either pin 35,44,57, or 91 on the Evo8 ECU's.

NIce, thats a good sign
I wish there was even ONE local Evo 9 guy near me
EDIT: Just looked at some old posts of mine and PIN 35 is the ICS light output on the EVO8 ECU's.

i have wired a led for ics for my 03 8 because i am have a 45mm boost gauge in place for the stock lancer gauge. pin 35 on ecu is ics light . and from c-23 connector it is y-r wire that runs for the gauge cluster . i ran into a problem where my Led would only work on manual mode. because if u look at the wiring diagram its looks like the ecu grounds the circuit . but when i would run my e85 map or auto mode led did not work . so switched the + - on the led and still did not work. after that i gave ground to led and power from pin 35 on ecu and it worked. from my understanding i think the ecu ground the circuit in manual mode and gives power in auto mode. i might be wrong but this is what worked for me. cause running a e85 map without a led (isc)flashing was just irritating me.

Yeah, that sounds about right. In manual mode, the ICS light shouldn't be on anyways so the ECU output must rest at ground when its off. It must send +12Vdc to the ICS Lamp when AUTO MODE is active.
So...Turco......when can I expect a visit huh? lol

I just had the gauge cluster out in my 05, and there was no wire for the ICS light in the cluster harness. Also I'm pretty sure that the ICS light works were the ECU pulls the pin to GND, just like the SES light. I also wanted to use the ICS light to signal the ALT maps.
check the pin on the ecu harness - bet is its disconnected.
wait for jamies new harness, its going to take advantage of the ICS output to show when altmaps is actually enabled...
