Weird Knock Issue
Weird Knock Issue
Hey my evo has been having knock in the weirdest place.
It will knock like 20 counts at around 2800-3000 rpm at around 160 load, like around when the turbo starts to spool.
Anyone know what might be causing this?

I dont have the log right atm.

I have been tuning mindoftw's car. I sent him the logs from last night to tune to post up. It was the weirdest thing. the car was running fine, we were getting the boost dialed in. He had about 1/4 tank of gas so he filled up with shell 93. Unfortunately they were filling the gas tanks at the station so i have a feeling we may have gotten a VERY bad tank of gas. Ever since the fill up the car was getting odd counts of 20+ knock. sometimes at spool sometimes at cruise and other times not at all. I personally have never seen anything like it. The car is back on the OEM timing and fueling doing the same thing.

The tricky part was it started doing it out of the blue!
I did change roms, his original rom was 94170008 and i moved him to 94170015.
I am really lost on this one unless something is mechanically wrong. he is literally running v5.10 with stock tune except for rescaled MAF settings

I started having weird part throttle knock issues when I switched from 0008 to 0015 on my Evo. I checked the knock filters on my end and noticed that the first column in the knock filter map 1 is all jacked up on the 0008 rom. On the 0015 rom the first column is steady. I'm pretty sure that the knock has been there, but the sensor just wasn't taking it into account with the values being different. You might wanna double check your version of the 0008 rom's knock maps. I've been trying to tune it out for about 2 weeks now and the only issue I can see is that once I get one section fixed it, it happens in a different area.
