This v6.00 seems very promising, good job!!!
Are you working on the "metric bugs"?
Can you also display the torque in Nm when metric is selected?

Making it run metric and U.S. standard measurements is a PAIN!!! Thats when I started making tons of mathematical mistakes. I may add a page with metric conversions for now and then make a totally separate version all in metric. Its all still up in the air at this point.

Really? Why not create a separate chart that takes the data from the SAE chart and scales by 1.356? If would be a lot of work to carry units all the way through, but at the end it is a linear factor.

Once I get the basic structure done, I will take a look at it. I have my hands 1000000% full right now trying to get it to work the way I have it laid out in my head, without missing any steps in the process. v6.00 is 10 times as involved at v5.71 was,but totally worth it.

To all that beta tested my screen 'auto-fit' setup last night...

I forgot to add the code which reverts all of the hidden headers and stuff back to normal during exiting. When you open excel right now, its possible that some stuff is still hidden. If you re-download the program/link and run vdr v6.00 again, then exit the program with the SAVE and EXIT or EXIT buttons in the top right, all will be restored.

My apologies.

Jack do you mind sending me the log file that you used to do the test on the last page or so of the forum? This would give me something to make sure my program is generating the right numbers.

If not I understand. Thanks man.

EDIT: Does anyone know an easy way for me to setup the excel worksheet to lookup data in a chosen file? So I can set it up so the user just selects his datalog without any copy/pasting?
This option would be amazing! I use AEM EMS and the datalogs can be rather large and pasting multiple runs gets a little tiresome. I have to say you have done an incredible job with this program!

Jack, have you gotten the large datalogs you needed? I am slated (provided both cars are ready) to do street tuning on 2 Toyota Supra's with very large turbos (78GTS and GT4780). They take a little while to spool and a 4th gear in a Supra is ridiculously long. I could probably get a couple 4th gear pulls which should surely exceed your limits, especially if I grab an internal log...

VDR 6.00 looks amazing, I wish I could play with it now! How far out are you thinking the release is, or even a public beta?

I have the information for Supra's also if you feel so inclined to add it as a default car in VDR.

I will gladly take any giant log files you have to offer lol. I am hoping to have a beta version with only the BASE PULL side out for testing this weekend/week. Gotta get the portion that loads the datalogs into VDR working before I can do anything else

So I am working on the 'SETTINGS' page right now and wanted to make sure you guys think I am heading in the right direction with it. Later I will add the IMPERIAL/METRIC selection on this page as well. I have it set to highlight the unlocked/active User Adjustable areas 'n yellow so you kind of cant get lost on which settings pertain to your selection.

Here is an example of a 'standard datalogger selection' vs. the "OTHER" selection. Hopefully I can get it to work with a lot of loggers as time goes by.

Will the VDR work with an Outlander turbo ? It has the same engine drivertrain ( gearbox, transfer case front and rear differential as the 2003 non ayc acd Evo 8. Ofcourse with the right wheel size and weight ?!

Its 100% user definable. In the 'VEHICLE LIST' page, there are 10 empty rows that anyone can use to enter any vehicle info and then you can save it. To add ANY vehicle to the VEHICLE LIST, all you need to know is:

3rd gear ratio
4th gear ratio
Final Drive Ratio
Frontal Area (ft^2)
Drag Coefficient (Cd)

Almost everything can be found on Google with some patience. For the frontal area and drag Coefficient, you want to find a vehicle with the CLOSEST size and shape if you cannot find any data on your particular vehicle.

The 3 things you'll find online are: (simplified definitions, lol)

Frontal Area- in square meters or square feet.

The easiest way to explain this is, imagine you were to drive thru a wall and only the portions of the wall that contact the vehicle as it passed thru the wall would be removed. If you measured the square footage of that 'hole', thats your frontal area. I think someone said you can calculate this with photoshop somehow if you take a frontal picture of your vehicle.

Cd

This is basically how much drag your car has when the wind becomes a stopping force. Basically, its compared to a flat wall of the same frontal area. The lower the number, the better your car cuts through the air basically.

CdA
This is found by multiplying the 2 values above. (frontal area*Cd)=CdA
This is telling you how much of the overall frontal area is an actual restriction. If you can find one of the other 2 values and also find CdA, you can just divide CdA by the other value you found to figure out the remaining value.

CdA/Frontal Area=Cd
CdA/Cd= Frontal Area

I hope that helps
