is there anything out there, short of buying the mitsu tool, that will connect to the ABS ECU and read codes? I tried two different computers, two different versions of EVOScan and two different Tatrix cables and couldn't get anything to connect to the ABS ECU.

All I'm trying to do is pull the codes and figure out why the ABS isn't working. TIA.

 

EvoScan, the last time I checked, couldn't connect to the USDM ABS ECU.

On the Euro or JDM models you can get it to flash out the code by shorting two pins in the OBD port with a paperclip. I've not done it, but you can look for details on lancerregister.com

 

I remember reading that by grounding pin 1 it will blink out the codes... I haven't tried it yet.

 

John, do you happen to know off the top of your head if the SRS ECU has a similar trick? (I suspect not, but you never know.)

I was hoping to dig into the ACD ECU for a bit, but the little light on my dash is telling me I should probably look at the SRS ECU first.

 

on EUDM and JDM cars iv checked you bridge out pins 1+4 on the obd socket.
