Ok first yesterday when I was doing my logs I had 0 knock through the entire pull but my fuel trims were negative so the only thing I changed was the global scaling up. MY afr's leaned up a bit so I adjusted them and now they hit 11.8 at wot. But now Im knocking like crazy. Im getting 9 counts of knock from 6k to 7k. I do notice at 6k it hits 12.2 afr but then goes back down to 11.8 but still knocks all the way through. Any ideas why this could be. Do I just need to readjust the timing?

O and also I have the tephra mod but it doesnt flash my cel at all during the pulls.

Did you turn on the tephra mods to flash during knock? I run 11.1 AFR on pump. I wanted to run conservative because that little bit of extra HP isn't worth it to me. You should bring the AFR down and see what happens. Are you on pump gas? Another thing to check is now that you are running a little bit leaner you might be hitting different load cells

 

yea i have the tephra mod on to flash after 3 counts of knock.

Do you think I could just put it back to the global setting I had before. My fuel trims were low = -5.4 and mid = -11
That shows Im running pretty rich but at wot it hits the afr's exactly where they should and I get 0 knock. Also I have no driveability issues with the car at all at that setting and I dont get no cel.

Also when I raise the injector scaling I have to change my fuel map to run rich afr numbers to get the actual afr where I want it.

 

First thing is to get your trim within + or - 5%. Then tune the afr map. When the trims are within range, then tune your afr map to mid to low 11 AFR. It is normal that you have to change the afr map when you adjust the fuel trims.

 

well when my injector scaling is at 750 my fuel trims are good but my wot is really lean. Even when I lower my afr numbers it tends to run 12.3 afr all the way through.

Ok i think my evoscan is just messing up. It says I had 38 counts of knock just cruising around. And sometimes when I do a log it says I get 10 counts of knock but then next time it will say 0. And since my CEL tephra mod doesnt light up Im thinking my evoscan might just be sending me the wrong info. What do you guys think.

 

ur running kinda lean in my opinion take it down to 11.5-11.1

 

ive already richened it up for the most part im at 11.5 but occassionally spike to 11.8.

 

Post your fuel map. For now bring the AFRs down to 11.1 and be more conservative. As you get everything down to 11.1 with no spikes you can lean it back out. Also post your timing map. If evoscan is messing up download mitsu logger and find out or reinstall evoscan. You are looking at knocksum, right?

Im going to try using mitsulogger and hopefully my evoscan is just messing up.

Mellon Ive messed with the fuel settings and I cant figure it out. I can get my fuel trims good and my afrs ok but it will knock like Ive posted in this thread. But Im thinking it might just be my evoscan giving me bad readings because my cel doesnt flash. Im going to try mitsulogger and if I get a clean log Ill email it your way.

 

Make sure you are looking at knocksum. The CEL should flash if it knocks and you install the tephra correctly of course.

 

I just found out i was not using the tephra correctly. I wasnt using the correct rom but now I have it all patched up. Going to try again using mitsulogger though just to check if evoscan is reading wrong.
