Noob Tuning

OK bear with me, ive been reading a lot, but still have some questions. Ive been logging using evoscan, and i downloaded ecuflash, but the folder is empty when i open it? There is a button on evoscan that says ecuflash, and im not sure if thats the way im supposed to do it or not?

How do i know what rom i have. It says it can read the ecu, but you have to choose from a list of roms.

As far as tuning goes, my fuel is screwed up. My low is -9.xx, and my mid is -7.xx. My high is .1 or something close. Im seeing 3 counts of knock aroud 5800 rpm, and under higher load, when timing is mid to high 30's, im seeing four counts. My boost setting is pretty low, i think my max was 21.9

Im still having trouble trying to figure out how to be able to log the AEM wb02 i have. I bought a serial cable that has a usb side also. Do i need to cut the serial port off and run the wire from that, or is there another piece im missing?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is all just very confusing starting out, and i cant seem to get anyone local to help me out taking a look at it.

Empty folder? Can you not open ecuflash? Have you installed it?

Eh?

Install ecuflash, plug your cable in, click igntion on, select 'Read From ECU'. Select your car type.
Have a look what xml it inherits.

What mods/injectors do you have, fuel trims shouldn't be that far out...

RE: The knock, a little more info needed, are you lean in this area, is it lift off knock? Only asking as mid to high 30s timing is a lot if it isn't

All the instructions can be found in this forum, you should also have them in the paperwork from when you purchased the wideband.

I've tried to answer most questions, but you need to be more specific

Give us some logs

Ok i figured out the ecu flash. It didnt install correctly, and the folder was empty. I reinstalled it once already, but didnt uninstall it, so it did the same thing i guess.

I will do a search for aem instructions, i just read somewhere you buy a serial cable with usb adapter, and solder the green wire i believe to the blue in the aem. I just want to be sure before i cut up a 40 dollar wire.

Im going to run a few more logs today, then i will post them up when i get home later tonight.

Ive been reading, its all just different at first. I found the thread on how to log the aem with evoscan, and will be picking up the parts tomorrow, along with making my own boost leak tester, and starting from there.
Then, im going to make sure my injectors are calibrated correctly, and if things still dont check out, start making small adjustments.
