Alright put a stock rom back on the car with the new egr disable routine, disabled lean spool, rear O2, EGR Solenoid, FPR solenoid, Tephra mod (all disabled) and with the OBDII readiness patch also. Instead of disconnecting the battery to reset the fuel trims I just unplug the MAF and start the car so I get a fault code, plug it back in, clear codes and that resets the fuel trims. Let the car Idle for 35 minutes (2byteAirflow at 33-35hz) and STFT adjusted as it did before, hovering between -1% and 1% yet still no LTFT low adjustment. Took the car out for a 20 minute cruise, and LTFT mid didn't budge either... once I got 2byte Airflow steady, STFT was hovering from -2% to 3% during cruise... IT just sucks that I can't get the LTFT low and mid to log. Again I tried with Evoscan and Mitsulogger with my Injector scaling/latency updated in both... no luck ROMID 96940011

what is your formula for the STFT, -1 to +1 isn't right... it should swing +/- 10%

I will check when I get home... it swings -1% to 1% at idle (basically zero). At some cruise situations it will get to -11% to 10% also...

Tephra Im going to say there is possibly a bug. On my original 94170015 rom, my injectors and maf were both scaled perfectly.
If your STFT is within 3% the car may not *need* to change LTFT.

What did you mean by?

I was speaking specifically to that problem. 12.446 *2 ~= 25% (total range of adjustability). If your mids are that far off I'm surprised that your low isn't further off than 3%, but maybe its in some sort of no-feedback mode.

Also, what are your open loop load/throttle tables set to?

(0.1961*x)-25 for all fuel trims

(x-128)/5

That is preferable, but shouldn't matter too much compared to the one you are using.

If STFT is only swinging 1% the car may be spot on (but I doubt that).

Otherwise you might want to check if you possibly adjusted the min/max LTFT.

in my opinion:
a) its impossible to get the trims absolutely perfect
b) the STFT swings for cat efficiency reasons

I think the swing is due to feedback loop response time and also somewhat because of the minimum step size in pulse width.

I have finally got my trims to work correctly and have narrowed it down to 2 Perph bit's that can either be labelled incorrectly or they may be resposble for more than one thing.
This is sepcific to either 96530706/96530006 ROM.

Now it can either be both of them causing the trims not to work in Evoscan or only one, I haven't had the time to narrow it down any further.

They are...

1.)FAA bit2 - Rear O2.
I continually get error P0141 and I put a zero in this bit to stop the code from appearing.

2.) FEA bit15 - P0140 Rear O2 No Act.
I continually get error P0141 and I put a one in this bit to stop the code from appearing.

Once I have done this, my P0141 now doesn't come up any longer but my LTFT don't change from 0.18 if I reset the battery

If I put those two bits back to stock, my LTFT then start logging.

Hopefully that will help those who have the same problem as me with the LTFT in Evoscan.

Edit: I have removed my stock Rear o2 sensor and put the LC1 O2 sensor in it's place. The Rear O2 simulator in Tephra mods is enabled but I still get the P0141 error, which is why I changed those 2 bits mentioned above to kill the P0141 error code.

They are labeled right, unfortunately one of them also disables feedback. You should use the code posted for the heater disable and not the periphery to disable p0141. Leave those 2 bits stock.

Thx for putting me on the right track.

Wasn't easy finding the patch to disable the Rear O2 Heater, but I finally got there.

Looks like that is the problem then... I will have to hunt down the rear O2 heater patch now

Found it... ONLY FOR 96940011 ROM ID!!!

Had I seen this post a week ago, it would most likely be fixed already... owned by reading comprehension

A few more over here, that is where I got mine

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/7302505-post266.html

Edit: Since I don't have to worrying about emissions/passing inspection, I just had to add the lines to my XML file from the link above to surpress the P0141 rear O2 Heater code.
Nice and simple.

SeanV you are the man!
Well done on finding the source of the problem!

Since I'm running a Jap spec, there is no rear o2, so I guess I'll have to run the patch to suppress the CEL.

Once again thank you to SeanV for your efforts, trying this out tomorrow morning!
