Help making graphs
I'd like to make a simple graph with RPMs on one axis, and KPa on the other axis, and have Load graphed.
So you could look at the graph and see at 1000 RPMs and 100 KPa, Load is 105.
I've tried Excel, it says 256 item limit, my logs have a couple thousand samples.
I've downloaded a bunch of graphing software, I can get a 2D graph, it will graph KPa vs RPMs, but not graph that takes data for 2 axis and graphs a third set of data in relation to the axis data.
Seems like there should be a simple way to do this. Wondering if anyone had any tips for some good software to use???
My log are in EvoScan .CSV format, but I can cut and paste if need be.

Are you thinking a surface chart, like EcuFlash's 3D table "view graph" functionality? Have you considered (I know, it's hacky) reformatting your data into something EcuFlash can do something with, and viewing it that way? You even get a nicely colored 2D representation.
I'm almost positive neither Google Docs nor OpenOffice.org can do surface graphs.
It looks like DataLogLab has rudimentary 3D charting capabilities too. What version of Excel are you using? I don't think newer versions have that dataset size limitation.

Have Office 2007, got rid of the 256 limit thing by pasting my data to a new worksheet.
Still can't get it to do what I want, my data isn't in order so the rpm axis isn't right, it goes by time not 0 - 7500 rpm. The pretty color graph doesn't really give precise info. I'm not very good with excel.
I just started doing it with pen and paper. Be nice if you could look at averages, min and maxes, etc, though.
