FINALLY....the car is normal in cold weather....I love successful ventures.
Mine does this as well. However, once I back out of my driveway and stop, the car revs to 2k again. This happens every time I come to a stop until it is warm. Other than this the car drives very well. Is this normal?

The other thing I noticed is that when the car is cold the revs raise by a few hundred when I press the clutch, anyone else notice this?

I guess this thread has become, for a few of us, a personal chat thread now that we solved the cold idle/start issues.

I think I am in need of yet another BISS adjustment. Since making all of these changes my idle hunts by +/- 200 rpm when cold. The thing is, if my IAC is bad, it won't do me any good any how.

Jeff,.....That's great news! Guess it is time to get the meth flowing and turn up the boost to ohhh 33 ish. 500+ whp here you come. Let me know what I will owe you for shipping the IAC. I will give it a test....if mine is still good, I will send it back to you. If mine is bad....we can work out a payment. Thanks for your generosity.
Yeah, Navy... been in 12 years... sir

Yep....mine did this this morning. It isn't bad, but it is still annoying. I seriously need to get to that BISS adjustment. Bitter cold today.....low teens.

Maybe it was just too cold, but I was tuning my E85 again by adjusting some cranking IPW and disabled both cold start ignition maps that I posted in my other thread and the car runs way better when cold. Also, for some reason the 2k idle is gone as well.

Same for me Eric... once I zeroed out the low temp timing trim and changed the hole of 5s to a normal timing map the 2000 idle kicked rocks...

Jason - wish I had my car here in Ga. Some nice roads and it's in the low 30's to check for cold start. I think we have it solved

So does anyone know where approximately the "stock" MAF BISS setting is ? ? How many turns out from bottom?

The stock biss setting is based off of the ISC steps at idle or by setting SAS mode and adjusting the biss until the target idle is met.

It's been so many years since I have logged isc steps at idle, but I think you want it to be about 30ish or so. This way the ISC has plenty of adjustability to eliminate issues like stalling, etc.

I understand how it is set....But I am looking for is exactly how many turns the screw is turned out from fully bottomed at a stock car's setting.

This would be locking the ISC at 7 steps which is the stock value.

Sometimes we have to take a step backward to make two steps forward.

Mine logs about 20 ISCV steps at idle now... but I can tell you on the V7 rom the BISS setting (turn wise) is different from the 96940011 rom...

iirc it was like 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turns when new. I have mine set now using the actuator method to match 950 rpm. No stalling

Tried the BISS adjustment....car won't idle as soon as SAS is activated. I think my cams do not have enough overlap to idle with the assistance of the IAC. I have the BISS set to about 1/2 turn in from hearing it hiss. Car starts and idles well.

I am thinking the IAC is bad. Jeff....let me know when you want to send your extra one to me.
