slow 3
fast 6
load 100
Knock CEL Flash time 0.304

3 knocks begin to pull timing. I tune my car so that i prefer pull timing myself if it is necessary. If ECU pulls timing itself - something is wrong.

6 knocks begin to pull octane value and more ignition. Definetly time to lift...

Anyway its difficult to harm an engine under load 100.

RPM rise really fast so 1000ms or more setting make CEL stay flashing for a whole second even if there is no knock anymore, for example in 1st and 2nd gear on AX. CEL flash time of 304ms gives me a clear representation if knock really continues or it was a single occasional event.

I set mine at 3 for slow flash, 6 counts for fast, load over 120(sometimes get light tip-in knock) with 500ms.

Acamus, could you elaborate? I'm not familiar with tip-in-knock, but I'm guessing its knock that occurs at a low rpm as load starts to come up. Can that be fixed by adjusting the EGR advance map?

bump. I know holy thread revival...but mine is set to 4 and I get flashes almost every day. Is that something people just live with? Does fluctuate with sh!tty/non sh!tty gas, but it's usually always there.

I dont like any knock and have been able to tune it basically all out. I can log for 30 mins doing a hills run and have maybe 5 incidences of 1 counts, maybe 1 or 2 2 counts. Never on WOT over say 3500 rpm, I tuned all that out. Maybe my engines just quiet I dont know. I use 3 and 6 at 500ms. Haven't seen it flash in awhile.

Spoolup is the one area where I get flashes once every 3-5 pulls or so. I'll need to check out the EGR advance mentionned above.

My settings:
Slow: 3
Fast: 6
Duration: 300ms (allows me to see if it goes away quickly or if it persists)
min-load: 100 IIRC

^same here, although my duration is set to 1000ms. When it hits 6, its a no brainer though. Completely falls on its face @ wastegate pressure.

I have mine set to 4 & 6 with load set to 200.

When my car was stock I often saw knock levels much higher so I'm not concerned. Setting it at 200 eliminates phantom knock

Doesn't eliminate it, just keeps the CEL from flashing when it occurs
