Evoscan Navigator in Evo X? Yes please !!!
PLX make a similar ECM readout device using a wireless Bluetooth connection to the OBD II port and an Iphone for the display (through the CAN interface I think) but I chose the EvoScan GPS because the gage graphics were more attractive and the hardwire connection faster and more reliable than Bluetooth, also the added usability of a built-in GPS. I should make sure the PLX will work as expected before re-considering it.
I may try converting, or have HB Speed (who did the dynotune on the AP for me) convert my AP tune to EvoScan format but then I must have a laptop with me to re-flash if I get stuck without an E85 supply (this is my daily driver), or wish to try different tunes "on the fly" at the track; such a hassle especially as I am happy with the present tune and I have learned to use the ATR software (my first foray into ECM tuning). If I choose to go this route how do I change the gauge graphics? I like the gauge layout in 2.6 but can see no way to adapt that or any layout other than the default to 2.7 beta (I wish there was a tutorial or user's manual).
As it stands right now, this device being aimed at much more of the EvoScan hobbiest than I am, I will be happy to unload it, if anyone is interested PM or email me.
Thanx,
Paul

nope, tried it, unless I did that wrong too. There are many options on the Menu for intended functionality, but just don't work.
They might however be fully functional for older evos/stis.
What sucks is that OP2.0 has not yet implemented a way to log wideband AFR using its 2.5mm port. There is a thread on how to do that from a forum member here, but again, he has not verified it on an LC1.
Its been more than an year since I bought my OP2.0 and even more since it was release, its truly sad they still do not have a nice writeup or manual on their site for those of us interested in doing this.
Feels like I am blocked from all sides, I just wanna break free, even if it means I have to learn to program this stuff.
Yo Hamish, hear that mate, I'm ready to do some work and am gonna do it for free.

I hadn't verified it then. I can now.
LC1 works with standalone logging.
Also, just flash mode 23 on your car. It's required. The CAN stuff doesn't cut it due to limits and such.

OK, just enabled mode23 and was able to log the knocksum, i could not monitor the RPM since I am still trying to figure out how to change the gauge layout. I saw the template files, but I still do not see how to actually pick the one of my choice, because no matter what I choose in the gauge settings option, only the default template seems to load up.
any input would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

awesome, just began figuring out the various xml,txt and image files and how they are interconnected. It was slow to begin with since there isn't much documentation to begin with, but I'm getting the hang of it now. I'll chalk up something standard for the GSRs. Looks like all the background image templates assume its for an MR and they have fields for SST.
I would still appreciate any help.

Thank you, I am not complaining, I have no one to blame but myself for not thoroughly researching the product before purchase (although your site could be a little clearer on usage and which cable is required, not everyone reading this thread is intimately familiar with EvoScan sw). This appears to be a great product with appeal way beyond the exclusive EvoScan tuning crowd, would it be so hard to include a CAN interface for those with my "plug and play" type of usage in mind?

we have been discussing these car computers for 3 years now, we don't expect you to know everything day one...
1) read all 9 pages on this thread
2) start reading... http://www.evoscan.com/gpsnav
3) read all pages on this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...en-review.html
LC1 works with standalone gps nav.
Mode23 Logging is minimum (CAN sucks and has not very good information) read the mode23 newbie thread.
Yes you can Write to your ecu ROM using EvoSCan GPS Standalone Navigator. only with op1.3U cable and only with evo7/8/9
start reading: http://www.evoscan.com/mitsubishi-su...bd2-can-cables
if you have evo5/6 with op2 we don't have a solution for you yet with GPSnav, use a cheaper op1.3D cable for datalogging, its much faster than op2 anyway.

you are trying to log AFR without any vehicle information via the openport cables? never thought anyone would want to do that. I guess I can log just AFR if its the only thing selected.

Looks like I might have found the cause of the WB issue. I am using a prolific chipset based serial cable. Since it works with evoscan on the desktop, I thought it would just work with the PPC edition too.
Currently looking for an FTDI based converter. I want to buy this, if possible, at a local store so that I do not lose the weekend waiting for it to be shipped, anybody know of any stores that carry the ftdi chipset based converter?

awesome, got my new ftdi cable and figured everything out for the gauges. I have made a compilation of the evoscanppc folder with hamish's help and sent it to him for his blessing. That's right, all is working well for the X in the GPS Nav unit. If anybody needs the rar file to use on their device, PM me. Right now I only have it for the GSR. Well, it may work on the MR too probably, but someone will have to try.
Thanks Hamish, live support rocks.

here is catalystGods post over on evoX forums.. nice setup mate. I'm impressed.

We all here like to learn more and more about how the car works
