How to determine immobilizer hex?

My buddy bought a car and it had an HKS EVC on it. We are switching it back to the stock ECU. We don't have the original ECU that came with the car, see post here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ld-thread.html

How can we determine the immob. hex to put into the ROM, it will be daily driven so I don't want to turn off the immob.?

Is there a way to find this or figure it out, is it written on the hardware somewhere?

That info is probably stored in Mitsu Dealer Co database. I know with VW and Audi, you must enter in all sorts of info and passwords to obtain and immob code to program keys....I would assume it's not much different.

Hopefully I'm wrong and you don't have to go to the dealer.

Yeah we have the title and all that stuff, so it's legit we just need to know how to get it.

Anyone else have another idea?

The polling for this code is from Immobilizer.
I can see only one way doing it via logging,
but I am not certain, what ROMID are we speaking about?

It can any variant of an EVO8 ROMID. 9417, 9653, etc...

We will end up running 9653 though.

yeah you would need to log the parameters in the ECU.

if acamus doesn't have the time to tell you ill have a look!

Thanks Dave!

This ECU is not the stock ECU with this car, it is just an EVO8 ECU to replace the HKS EVC. So if we could log a parameter to get the HEX key needed to enable the immob. that would be great!

I am not sure what you are trying to do.

The cars with the VPRO still have the stock ecu in there.

The ecu in that yellow car is the ecu for the car and does have the correct ID.

Pull the ROM from the stock ecu simple and you will have the code.

The immob hex is determined by which year the car is.

I though you knew this, as I seen a post by you listing all the years and their immob hex's?

Sean,

HAHA! It might be, we didn't even look! The original owner said he took it out and sold it! Should have looked huh? I have an ECU sitting here so we didn't even think of "actually" looking.....we were just going to put this one in.

Well, anyway maybe this would be something to find out for others to know to get the immob. to go back to stock ECU if it is unknown...

Sorry i should have specified, I am not referring to that. I am referring to the actual HEX key used for the immob. key to allow it to function.

Bascially the situation is: If you have a car that doesn't have a stock ECU, and you don't have the original ECU for it, how do you find out what the immob. key is?

HEX is easy, immob. is hard....

If you didnt have the immob you would need the mitsu mut3 to reprogram the immob for the replacement.
