Speed Density Round 1 = fail

Well,

Got the Omni 4 and GM IAT in, but the IAT didn't come with the pigtail to hook it up with. Supernet and I tried to get the car to take the rom, but it didn't want to start. Next step is to get that Pigtail and try again. More updates coming later.

The car will run like crap with no IAT sensor. I had mine wired incorrectly originally, and it would fire up, but not stay running. Get that IAT wired up and you should be in good shape.

Tip: get the IAT sensor working properly with your existing rom (with mrfred's MAT-logging patch) and the 4-bar map sensor scaled properly and logging boost. That way you are familiar with the proper scalings, have all the right xml, and can coorelate the logging data to real world numbers and ensure they're correct.

THEN move on to speed density.

Well said, if you spend more time verifying all your numbers are right and EVERYTHING is logging CORRECTLY before you switch to SD you should be able to start with no problems. The system is only as good as its weakest point, if you set it up incorrectly trying to rush through it, it will never run right. Get it logging IAT and boost in KPA on a MAF ROM, create some data items in Evoscan to calculate VE. if the sensors dont look like they are readong right in evoscan dont even attempt to run the car in speed density until you get it straight or its pointless. It took me a couple weeks to get mine to run good but the car definately likes the tial alot better now it was worth it

Hrm, just thought of another thing to try:

Turn the car on, but do not start it. Log Mut11 for air temp...is it correct? Also log MAP sensor...it should read 0psi with the engine off. Just a good starting point since you obviously already have some time wrapped up in this rom.

immobilizer issue? did you put in a brand new rom and forget to copy it in?

im guessing by no start it just cranked and cranked but never fired?

Could possibly be, but Supernet was tweaking the immobilizing a lot because that's what held his car back when going SD. I think that it's the IAT not being hooked up that's stopping.

To answer a previous post, yes the engine was cranking but not firing. Prob won't get to round deuce until the new year. Will keep everyone posted.

IAT or not I think it should at least fire up and possible run like crap and/or die shortly after wards.

Disable the immobilizer bit if you haven't already just to eliminate the possibility.

You don't have the immobilizer hex set properly if you put the immobilizer code in and it still won't start. Enter 0x0058 for your '05 model and try that, it will still start and run even without the IAT sensor hooked up as I ran a few test trials without one on mine for a day or so. Only major difference was I had a CEL on and no air temp correction (it was also ~70* around that timeframe too).
