E85, 0.015 Plugs gap and still misfiring. Help!? Any tuning expert? Maps inside

Hey guys,

My car was tuned at 27psi for E85. I have 2.3L motor with GT30R turbo.
I am experienceing a huge misfire (felt like i hit a car in front of me) even at only 25psi. Did not have this problem before, even at 27psi.
I felt that the amount of boost i can run before misfiring gets lower and lower.
This happens alomst all the time now during WOT 3rd gear up at about 5000rpm. lower rpms at higher gear. 4500rpm at 4th. This is only approximate.
it is usually fine at 1st and 2nd gear

I am using BR8EIX iridium plugs gapped at .015 now. It was fine with this .015 before. no misfire, but over time, the misfire comes back.
Attached are my fuel map and ignition map.
Please help!! Thanks a bunch!

Anthony

If it's "I almost just went through the windshield" you are most likely hitting boost (fuel) cut.

If it's slight tugging or a subtle bap bap bap then it's ignition.

Or BPR7ES at .020. How much time transpires between them being okay and going away? Typically stock ignition cars and E85 dont have a long lifespan. We have seen as little as 500 miles depending on how aggressive it is. I would presume that if you are running into issues that arent load or boost cut (that is the 380 cap or the preset boost cut) your ignition could be not up to task for what you are doing. Need to see a log if you have one.

Before you go changing stuff out and doing all this work. Seriously, check your boost cut section and value. Send me a copy of your rom file and ill look over your file and send it back.

Can you provide me with your email address?
what's weird is that i was running 27psi and it was totally fine.
i'm now running 25 psi and boost cut kicks in?
Anyway, I'm gonna send it to you and have your opinion on this.
Thanks!

if you think its a plug misfire ( bupbupbup ) but not flat on your face ( boost cut)

pull the spark plugs and check to see if there is carbon arcing down the ceramic ribbing to the metal body of the plug. If you see any replace the plugs and the wires. Be sure to put silicone dielectric grease on the ceramic ribs, this will help prevent arcing to ground.

Yeah its old school

Besides what people have already told you, a big boost leak could cause it to buck. It could also cause the load to be higher which could be another reason you may be hitting fuel cut now. Coils may be bad too, but I almost bet its not ignition if it feels like you hit the car in front of you.

Thanks alot for your suggestions.
Does anyone know if there is a boost cut limit in ECUflash? I can't seem to find such parameter on mine.
Or perhaps, I am hitting 100% duty cycle?

Even though they for some reason call it boost cut on Evos, it cuts fuel not boost. It should be called fuel cut like it is in the DSM world.

It sure does sound like you're experiencing fuel cut to me. If it's colder out now or you developed any kind of boost leak you will hit it easier (or if you did anything to increase airflow).
