Hey EvocentriK. Try this one. I have not tested it so let us know how it goes.

hello

This is JDM EVO9 MR ACD rom data.
Can it be used for analysis?

Thank you for posting! Yes, i have studied this one a little while ago. This is also the same ECU/ROM as found in the JDM Evo9 GT.

Long story short, there wasn't any changes in this rom that would have me change the way that I tune the ACD. Gravel and Snow have had some more ACD lockup applied, but otherwise just a few coefficient changes to each mode. Nil changes to the AYC settings. Might there be an improvement for a stock vehicle using these settings...yeah, maybe.

I'm looking for RA580728K1 (Tarmac) ROM.
If you have it, I want you to share it.

I know that the definition file is the same as 401403.

Reviving this for those who are interested: I hunted for patents regarding ACD and AYC and found a lot, so here are a selection. Most of them are either for other generations of Mitsubishi's rather than CT9A Evo's, e.g. ACD for the Galant VR-4, AYC for CN9A, and S-AYC, SAWC for Evo X. All apply at least some degree to Evo's 7-9 with ACD or AYC or S-AYC.

I've had these for months (retrieved from several patent sites) and just never got round to sharing them until now. I hope this stimulates a little more interest in the topic - including my own!

I read or at least skimmed through all of these. A few of us have found some rather interesting graphs and info that closely match those in our ROM's. I've got a few things I've been meaning to trial on my car since reading these and other patents and technical reviews.

I can share more if there is more interest!

Today i managed to read out the ACD ECU of a EVO VII and a EVO VIII with OP 2.0 and EcuFlash 1.42

Unfortunately, you cannot read/write this ecu into the car, only on the bench for now. But i think that if it will gain people's curiosity, it is very easy to mod something and tune this ecu directly into the car.

You have to connect to the ECU

1 ground
2 Vcc
1 K-line
1 flashing voltage

Also you have to put ground and Vcc on the OP also. Look on the schematics and you will understand. You also need a steady 12-14 Vcc source.

Download the .xml in the archive into the ...\rommetadata\read templates

Open EcuFlash 1.42 and choose from READ -> ACD ECU.

!!! It will work only with EcuFlash 1.42 and only with OpenPort 2.0 from Tactrix!!!

Until now, i just read the ACD ECU, now i will start trying and verifying writing also.

I believe that ACD-AYC ECU is the same like this, but i have to test further.

Thank you Acamus, for giving me the idea.

Now, that everyone can read his ACD ECU, i hope that you reverse-engineering guys will start and find the maps inside and make the definitions that we need.

S.

Disclaimer:

It is a method that imply some risques. Do it on your own risque!!!
So is this still true that you need to use 1.42 to read the ACD ecu? I currently have 1.44 and I'm not able to connect. I'm getting an error message that says an error occurred. I'm not sure if it's due to the software or maybe my connections

Good morning gents, having an odd issue with an ACD/AYC ECU. I can read the ECU but cannot write back to it without it failing. Is there a different kernel I need to use or is it that my new laptop has v1.44 and not one of the older versions to read write? Only seems to be an AYC related issue as I can write the USDM ECUs perfectly fine.

thanks

Aaron

You can use the later versions of ECUflash.

That sounds very strange. What ECU case number are you trying to write to? Have you tried flashing the OEM rom back onto it?

I'll have to double check what ECU flash version I'm using (it might be 1.43), but i've never had any issues writing any ROM to any ECU. Whether the ECU works within an incorrect ROM is another story, but it will always let you flash it.

I was able to download my ACD using the bench setup but it only shows the ROM info. No maps show up. What am I missing?
