I paused your video at appropriate times and cannot see any issues. I can't see that you have everything plugged into the correct sockets, but can see that you haven't accidentally mirrored any of the connections - i.e. upside-down, like what I did when I first tried it, until donner sorted me out. I couldn't quite see, but I think that I got the same error as you when I wired it up wrong, so I don't think that the error message is particularly descriptive.

I recommend checking for continuity on all wiring, and for good connections to the ECU. We had this problem with Hamish's wiring - we individually plugged each wire on the ECU with USDM Evo 8 pins, but a couple of the pins were loose. If we held the pins a certain way, it worked! In my setup I have plugged directly in with fresh USDM Evo 8 plugs too.

I doubt that the issue is because you have an JDM 8 MR, because all standard Evo 8's and 9's have the same ACD ECU but with different part numbers. I am running a reflashed Evo 9 ACD ECU in my JDM 8.

Probably completely pointless suggestion, but you don't need to plug the little reflash connector (the yellow one in the diagrams) into your car, only into the ACD ECU.

I will go over all my wiring and confirm the connections are secure. Thankyou for pointing it out as a possbile problem.

Isnt that 'yellow' reflash wire required to give read/flash voltage?
Without plugging it into the car, that connection has 0.0V as it gets power from the car....

it takes the power from that 2.5mm jack on the OP2.0

and thought this setup was to be done outside the car

Thanks for clarifing that greg.... Understood.

It gets its power from the cigarette lighter/phone charger..... i have a socket in the car so i use that.....

Does it need 12volts or 6V to work?
ill have to see what the lighter socket puts out.......

I should be 12V, if not then that's a problem. I am using a 12V power supply, so it's possible to reflash completely independent of the car, like Greg said. The car is just a convenient 12V power supply.

Just rigged up my flashing dongle...running off a hot-wired ATX power supply atm for testing, reads and flashes perfectly first go.

Wife is a little disturbed asking 'how the hell are you reading your car when its in the garage' then walked off stating her head is exploding...

HAHAHAH!!
love it !

im only getting 6volts out of my phone charger which is plugged into the cigerette lighter for some reason.... i think maybe its the phone charger plug im using...

Ill try another

EDIT:
So it turns out the 12volt assessory socket adaptor i purchased was mislabeld as 12volt input/12volt output.... when indeed it is only 6v output..
I shall get another and try again :-)

just use a 12v DC wall adapter, surely your kids have some toys or electronics that uses one of these? or better yet, just wire it through to you OBDII vehicle port.

As Hamish mentioned a little earlier in this thread, we worked out what a lot of the ACD requests are one night, and have been working on the evaluations for them since. Thanks to donner too for his work on the evaluations!

The attachment is pretty much the same as the latest evoscan v2.9 beta acd xml, but there's always a few changes happening with it. Just rename the extension to .xml.
If you don't have the 2.9 beta, just copy text to the acd part of the Mitsubishi MUTII.xml.

The more people working on it, the better!

Enjoy logging ACD and AYC currents, directional valves, etc.
