My a/f gauge messed up.....
My a/f gauge messed up.....
Ok so i am trying to tune my car today and have noticed on evo scan that my a/f ratio reads differently. Like for example it used to say 14.2 now it says 4.2?? WTF! so i was like ok no big deal i guess that just means I'll add 10 and make it 14.25 lol.
When reviewing the logs of my a/f ratio i realized on WOT it was at 14.23 the whole time...
So i decided to take the car back out and log the a/f and watch my gauge while i went WOT, cautiously of course
. So i was seeing that my gauge in the car was reading like a 12.8 on WOT and evoscan was reading like 14.23 WTF is that??
The purpose of this was because i was trying to tune for 11.4 a/f.. So i used the data from evo scan and tap the gas a little with the changes and realized my gauge was reading like 8. something so i just stopped cause i don't feel like having a blown motor.
Can anyone help on this little issue? thanks!
BTW it's a inovate lc-1 with a digital blue gauge and evoscan is connected threw the serial port.

Is it possible you grounded the calibration wire by accident? That would definitely cause some weird readings. Were you logging your nbo2 sensor also? It's not good for actually tuning, but it could be useful in diagnosing your problem.
One thing to be careful of...Don't unplug any cable from your wideband with power going to it. For example, if you have it wired to come on with your key turned "on" don't unplug any cables while it's powered on. It somehow messes up the settings within the LC-1. Mine did this same thing, when I checked the internal settings of the LC-1 it reverted to reading Alcohol. It's an easy fix if that's what happened. Otherwise, calibrating wouldn't hurt at all.
