If i run Ecu Flash and Evo Scan, when i look at the data log will A/F come up? or do i need something else for that to read

I do not want to relay on the Narrow-band AFR bec it does not help tuning at all..

I do not want to get a Wideband gauge in my car.. how to tuners and people look at ur A/F's.. Dont they hook something up to the back of your exhaust? were can i buy that piece?

Narrow-band AFR will display in EVOscan data logs. You really need wide-band AFR for tuning purposes. This is an additional gizmo mod you will need to invest in. Do a search for wideband, wide-band, wide band, on this forum as well as on Al Gore's Internet.

you need to have a wideband hooked up to the computer and the right com port selected for a/f to show up in the evoscan logs

widebands have to be placed in your exhaust. there is no way around it.

widebands typically have a serial output which you can hook up to your laptop via serial port or serial-to-usb adapters, which you can order online or purchase from best buy or radio shack.

if it doesnt have a serial output, there will be a 5v analog output wire which you can wire directly into your ECU. you would then have to modify your xml definitions to support logging capabilities.

btw search function does wonders.

there are few ways of connecting wo2 to your car. First you buy a simple and cheap wo2 like this http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/db.php, drill a hole in your exhaust, plug this wo2 into it and wire it to your car. Then use serial output to connect it to your laptop. Also you can connect this wo2 directly to your car ecu (look here how to do it https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ial-cable.html) and another way is to buy this (but it is rather expensive tool) http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm2.php and this exhaust clamp http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...cat=271&page=1 so you dont have to drill or do any temporary installs.

um...no! The A/F reading that is most acurate is only a foot or two from exit of the w/g or o2 pipe for our stock turbo's. So it is like most everyone has said, you can't get away from putting it in your downpipe. Besides, what is reasoning you don't want it there...once you start to fully tune your car, you'll want it there

...also, most tuners if you dont have one, have there wideband on a teather and shouve it up the tail pipe like an enima, putting it as far up there as it can go.

You will not see it sticking out of your exhaust unless you are under the car looking for it. I love having a wideband hooked up all the time. It helps me know if a boost leak has developed or if something else is going on... Hell when I got tuned my tune was off for some reason and when I drove home I noticed it and started to learn how to tune for myself.

Anyway get a wideband and install it perminetly you will not be disapointed. You could even disable you narrowband o2 and put the wideband there.

I agree with many members here. I thought the ECU mapping would be just one time business, and I thought I would finish tuning my EVO, but I was wrong!

I highly recommend getting a wideband system with a guage. I like my ZT-2 with ZR-2 gauge that can display not only AFR, but also EGT if I hook up a sensor. (which I did recently)

If you plan to use ECU flash and upgrade hardware one by one, you will definitely need a wideband permanently installed at the down pipe or test pipe (since you do not have a cat) so that you can tweak your ECU map according to your hardware change.

Any exhaust shop/or machine shop with a TIG welder can weld the O2 sensor adaptor for you.

Also EVO has a good spot for putting an O2 sensor and route the wire, it is near the coupling section of downpipe and the cat (or test pipe). There is a rubber grommet can be either drilled or removed so that you can put the sensor wire through.

If you search for an install how-to, you can see some pics, which should explain it much better than words.
