96532706 dma/live map questions
Hi guys
I am running the 96532706 dma/live map rom, all is going well (JDM Evo8). I have a question, I have searched but the answer is not clear
Question?
When using live mapping to tune my timing, do I need to be on my alt map or does my ecu just use the ram? (The info is taken from my alt maps though right)
Does the car continue running off the RAM until i pull power or reflash?
Cheers
Phil

thanks mate, so if I am not on alt maps (ie the wife is driving) the car wont use the RAM maps (Alt maps) it will use the ROM map.
Then when I switch to alt map it copies this to RAM to use which I then live map, press write to RAM and the changes take affect (whilst in alt mode) When finished tuning I copy the RAM numbers to my ROM maps and flash via ecuflash. Have I got this right?
Also the restore ICS doesnt seem to work for me, if I have alt maps on then turn off car, on restart its goes into alt mode (or if normal maps goes to normal maps)
I have set it to 0 which I assume is off like TephraV5.1 96260009
The coolant temp doesnt read either in livemap any ideas?
Sorry for the nob questions
Cheers

phil, essentially the alt maps have been moved to ram. so when u r using the alt maps they are read from ram. u can make changes to them via the app and it will be instatenous. now as the name implies its ram as soon as the battery is unplugged the ecu reflashed etc the contents are lost or turn to gibbrish as u eperienced.
to copy them permanently u need to copy them to ecuflash and then reflash the rom onto ur car.
if you have a JDM 8MR, did u check the thread out. i mentioned changing the DEAD location as the stock one (A000 i think) does not work and it looses info, so the ICS state is lost as well as any changes u did to any of the ram maps.
retore ICS should be one i think to enable the feature.
with the coolant temps... have u copied the hex address from ur real MUT Table to a free spot on the ram mut table. then on the livemap u need to use the request id from the ram mut table. also i noticed that with water one of the addresses (scaled or non scaled) worked and the other didnt

my car is a jdm evo 8 fq300 NZ ralliart edition with the 3 plug ecu (very rare here, only a handful were NZ new and modified from the factory)
I changed the dead location to 841E as per your how to post.
I will set the ICS to 1 and see if that fixes it, as i dont want my wife hoping in and the car remembers I was on alt maps and so then switches them back on for her.

does the dead location also need setting inside the app in the ecu definition tab?

On your JDM evo 8 do you get a whole heap of error codes when checking DTC via evoscan? I get about 8 but no CEL

if i email you my rom can you take a look at it for me to see if my periphery bits are right?
I have changed the dead location in the live map apps to FFFF841E is this correct?
Also how do I change add items to the mut table in ram, it wont let me edit them
My ICS still doesnt reset, so how ever it was before turning the ignition off it stays the same on start up.
Cheers

These are the codes I get, no CEL though
