Go Speed density.

The problem with VTA BOVs isnt the tune, its the way the ECU measures airflow, which is done by the MAF.

The solution is to go speed density.

It involves buying two sensor, installing them, and doing a bunch of stuff to the ROM. Its a lot of work just to get the VTA BOV sound and not worth it IMHO.

If you want the blow off sound, then just get an intake. Even the stock DV will make somewhat of a blow off sound if you have a open intake.

I'm running a vta tial and it runs fine once and a while the rpm's drop 200 rpm's but the car doesn't stall or shake when it happens..You have to scale the mass air to think you still have a rec bov.

Speed density is not for everybody.

My suggestion is just buy a decent BOV that recirculates back into the turbo inlet tube. As mentioned, an intake will give you a lot of the noise you are after.

You CAN NOT "tune" around a VTA BOV with a pre-turbo MAF. All you can do is some hack *** stuff to keep it from stalling most of the time.

You can vent your BOV to atmosphere as long as it's a twin-vent or you're a good tuner and know what to do. I personally use a GFB Stealth FX with great results. It keeps the MAF happy. You;ll have to play with the adjustments on the BOV to get the best results, as the Steath FX is adjustable regarding how much it recircs and how much it vents. Right now, i'm actually venting everything to atmosphere and have tuned around it with no issues what-so-ever. It's been this way for over 3 years. Never once does it stall.

I'll be selling my practically new APS twin-vent valve in a week - with an intake, it sounds pretty good.

It has a couple/few hundred miles on it

PM me if interested - it is not in the "For Sale" section yet

unless you're pushing your boost, no good $$ reason to buy a new valve.

For the love of god do not get an HKS, they are the worst BOVs for the EVO. I had one that came with the car and quickly replaced it with a synapse...
