As far as Knock Cel goes... I highly doubt they copied his code. They probably just copied the idea. Tephra could patent it, but he would have to show prior art and it has been in the public for too long already.

yeah i dont think they will be copying my code.
and I dont have a patent on the idea, primarily because I didn't come up with it first.
Ages ago, when I got my first evo, I think someone said it would be cool to make the CEL light flash on Knock...
I just did it
But whatever, thats business I guess!

So far in the DFW, we haven't had anyone beat their tunes, to my knowledge. I believe the Cobb AP Challenge is always open.

You cannot call taking an idea from "Open Source" stealing work. Maybe Tephra needs a GPL variant, then atleast he can insist they use his EULA with all their products.

Either way, we should get this thread back on topic, map switching for the 10 / RA without a $600 pager and the man behind it.

So...I should pay for the prestige of knowing "I was tuned by X" and not the results? That's rediculous, Ecuflash and all the open source tuners use a 'Tool', it just doesn't cost as much. I would gladly pay anyone competent in my area to tune my X with a dyno...I am just waiting for someone to step up to the task. Sorry to digress...

Man, I know. I was all onboard with the open ecu ****, until I found out either in my area we have guys that like to blow **** up on X's or they have no expericence at all. I was disheartened to say the least, I am a Linux developer and a former elecrtonics manufacturing engineer, I don't believe in paying for anything, only just barely labor. It really, really hurt to buy the Cobb, but all I can say is the service is great, I don't have to ask or beg in PM's to get help and my car is running ***** out fast. I really do wish I lived near an Ecuflash wizard that could tune and EBCS...I really do.

but it is of no importance, the important thing is that V1 is out and tephra gets at least some money to pay his time.
Anyway I am glad that they have to catch up with us and not vice-versa
Maybe Tephra will join Cobb once his current job is over and this disscussion
will make no sense
