Lots of good suggestions in this thread. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

Best bang for your buck tune is 4WS. Tamer is extremely helpful and will get your car exactly where you want it.

+1, I have to imagine thats where these guys all learned anyway. I tried the e-mail tune thing a while back and in the end I was back here figuring it out for myself anyway + I coud never afford to pay someone or expect the 1000s of hours I have spent logging, tweaking and changing set-ups. Spend your money to get it on a dyno as the WOT stuff is kind of sketchy on the street and you can get a lot done in a short amount of time.

I had good experience with Jestr, a good-went-bad with 4WS (he did a good job on three of our cars and suddenly stopped any communication) and now I can warmly recommend Jay@Boosted - he proved to be very committed, did a great job on a modded car (internals, big injectors, big turbo), he will be definitely my choice for any evos we'll have to work on!

Is it worth just getting dyno tuned at AMS or would a flash tune get me just as close with a 05 evo rs with a fp green, 750s, exhaust, etc.?

I really doubt you could go wrong with a dyno tune from AMS, I think they are one of the best, although probably better known for thier standalone ECU tuning.

From my own experience and reading a lot of these posts there are really two services here IMO, they are related but not at all the same.

One is setting up and using all of the functions and benifits of V7 which requires someone knowledgable with ECUflash and Tephpra's mods and the other is actually tuning a car which requires someone knowledgable in EFI tuning and engine function.

Both of these traits can be found in one "tuner" but not always and sometimes "tuners" will specialize in certain feaures of V7 but inexplicably refuse to use others and be actually marginal in terms of conceptually understanding basic EFI tuning. Oher "tuners" are world class but may not necesscarily be up to speed on all the ins and outs of ECUflash.

Jestr! If you live in Florida you really have no excuse not to get dyno tuned by Jestr. The best tuner lives in your back yard!!! Also heard good things about Diiirk at AWD motorsports. So pick who's closer and get it done properly!

AMS now offers E-tuning services as well. Pm or email me if you have any questions.

I'm considering running meth and two maps and that's a bit more than I can tune on the streets also
If you are in FL just drive to 4wstuning, he is in Pompano Beach, I dont know how far away is he from you, but it's def closer than me driving from NJ

There is a sticky n the ECUFlash forum for doing this as well as a, wiki, and a whole ECUFlash tuning guide.

That said 4WS has been awseome to me over the years and has always kept my car running great back when I had no clue about the ECUFlash stuff. Now that I've learned I tune it myself.

Problem for me is that in my area Tri State there is not one shop I would even consider to bring my car to for tuning. A lot of shady shops and characters up here. Trust Me
