Evo IX with Evo VIII head

If i want to install an Evo VIII head on an Evo IX with Evo IX ecu and installation, the head doesn't have a sensor on the intake cam.

How can i make this car run?

Thank you

I think it would be mostly ecu based changes, you would have to disable the mivec system, probably would be easier to just get a ix head or swap the ecu to a viii ecu. Idk if the wire harness is compatable though.

You'll need to run an Evo VIII computer and harness. It will be far easier and far cheaper in the long run to find a IX head.

It'd be interesting to see how things would go with VIII code loaded on that IX ECU, actually.

But I know better than to encourage anyone to try it just for my own intellectual curiosity, especially with what is probably a customer's car.
