Using aem uego 5v output as primary o2 sensor

I just finished installing my aem uego. I've yet to devise a way to log it though. Ideally I want to run the 5v output from the controller to the primary o2 pin of the ecu (replacing the stock narrow band signal). I've searched around and it doesn't seem like a lot of people do this. Is there any drawbacks to this setup?

Also can someone confirm that the aem doesn't need calibration, and doesn't read lower than 10:1? Cause mine's doesn't seem to.

Id like this info also. Ive read through the LM-1 thread about using the Innovate wideband, but I cant find any information on the values to use for the scaling on the AEM sensor.

Im using the Analog gauges, not the uego, but I think they both use the same sensor. At least theyre the same visually and at the connector.

Ok through extensive further research of the internetz it seems to run the wbo2 into the ECU as the primary o2 sensor it needs to run in a special narrowband simulation mode. This mode runs between 0-1V and follows the Nernst cell model. If I understand correctly, wbo2 runs usually at higher voltages and linearly, instead of like the Nernst cell nbo2's.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_sensor

So if you run the wbo2 signal directly to the ecu chances are it won't be expecting the signal and not function properly in closed loop mode. It needs to run in narrowband simulation mode which the ecu will understand. Apparently a feature of the Nernst cell is that it has a sharp change in voltage in response to afr, and is steepest at 14.7. Over a peak-to-peak spread of 1 V I thought it isn't enough resolution to get an accurate signal. But according to post #4 here, it is.

Ideally I would like to hook up my wideband to the primary o2 input for closed loop mode AND to log that signal too. Is there any problems in doing this if the signal is a nbo2 simulation instead of straight wideband? Is it any less accurate? Can anybody who knows this stuff comment please?

I don't think the analog gauge has the processing capacity to run in nbo2 simulation mode afaik.

I don't plan on running a narrowband simulation. I did that for years on the Talon and never really liked the simulated output vs a normal narrowband sensor for closed loop operations. I had better results (more consistent fuel trims) after I switched back to a narrowband and just logged the wideband.

I mostly just need to figure out the equation stuff to use for both Ecuflash and Evoscan for this sensor.

After a crazy amount of searching....I agree. LOL. What version uego did you use for your DSM?

Mrfred had a patch to run closed loop directly off the 5v wideband sensor but its for another ECU version, not mine. It was 885xxxx I believe. I'm not sure what version you have but you might want to search for his thread.
