Dumb Question Knock issues in cold weather no increase in load

So I recently switched to tephra on my evo 8 and noticed that Im having some knock issues only in cold weather. My Load did not increase and my AFR's do not lean out So its running the same amount of timing when its warmer then when its cold. I would understand this issue IF my load was increasing however its not. Any suggestions? I retuned the car to where she has no knock but Im running maybe 3* at peak tq and 10-11* up top. No other changes then the tephra but also I installed a solid front engine mount and my coilpacks probably need replacing...Also might I mention when I switch to Tephra My IDC went from 110% to 90% does that make sense? Thanks for any help.

timing wont ever change with weather, just afr, unless you have some tables you forgot to zero out in the rom.

depends how the cars mapped in the timing map. if you map trace it wont hit the same cells and will alter your tune.

also.. if ignition trim vs air temp isnt zero'ed out the ecu will pull timing based on what your cars actually doing.

Not sure on the load question. you would think so since the car is making more power during the winter, but last time i had my car out i seen lower loads actually.

My guess is check your lean spool before and after tephra. Also check timing map scaling matches before and after

Lean spool is disabled and timing is lower then before tephra .. I have no knock now because I adjusted it. But you can really feel a difference in power I mainly think its due to the cold weather not tephra but idk. I'll adjust the map.

This is exactly what happened to me and another buddy of mine with an Evo9. Except with us, it corresponded to a new tank of gas. At 23psi, I used to run 6 degrees of timing at peak tq, 13 degrees at redline. Then I switched to a new tank of gas and I was encountering all types of knock. I had to retune and brought peak tq way down to 3 degrees and 9 at redline. I even tried a new station, at Shell, which I hear is one of the better stations. It didn't help. This made my power go from 330/315 to 305/295, SAE corrected.

A couple years ago, the winter would be making my car run like a champ. There's something about this year's gas...it got crappier.

(I then swapped to an evo9 turbo and am making 330/310)

Hmm Well I just got in my ETS turbokit so all day sunday Im going to be messing around with things seeing if I can get the car perfect before the turbo swap. One my issues I fixed was I had a slight misfire situation. I had my spark plugs gapped way to tight .022 and fixed that. Changed to new coil packs and theres no difference. Haven't been able to do much since Ive got a buddy borrowing my LM2 but Ill see what happens on Sunday before the turbo install. Cant have this car knocking with a HTA86 on it lol. And all Ive been using lately is Shell gas. Gonna switch back to BP.

One thing I want to mention though is that my spark plugs looked perfect when I pulled them. Switched to a new set did a pull, pulled the plugs and they still looked fine. Had a buddy with a set of Det cans and we didnt hear any pinging so this is starting to go beyond me.

Have you considered switch back to whatever you had before Tephra map?

What about solid motor mount transmitting noise?
Anyway good luck
