thanks but
that was not my implication

96420007 ID to my understanding does not have a stock rom available and the v7 ecu mod is based on the stock roms. This would leave the owner two options, first is to have a patch done individually (unlikely), second is to convert to a ROM ID that does have the OEM XML (what I was implying).

Now if this here is not the case then that would be good news

A stock rom is just a download of the original flash to your computer not sure what your implying by stock. The Tephra mod isn't a patch its a complete replacement to your ecu's OS.

The ecu on your car simply is a 256kb file there is nothing more to it so it does not require you to convert you just replace it with the modified file and go. I think you are over complicating the issue.

Well now you know :P

Rom ID's are just compiled versions of the same OS which runs in our cars we have been modifying this run time code to get the results.

If you used to be 9642007, just move to V7 9417. It will work fine.

Just make sure to make the "immobilizer HEX" the same as your current ROM.

Or disable it in the FAA periphery bits if it refuses to work.

No thanks, tried it, and all I got were scrambled addresses for everything. Sticking with my OEM (mildly patched) 96420007, or whatever it is - it's been both 0008 and 0007

You must be doing some strange to gather that result in ecuflash.

Either your not properly loading in the xml files to the rommetadata folder or your scrambling the rom by changing the id number to something its not.

You should be simply loading the file for tephra v7 into ecuflash and writing it to the ecu.

Unlikely his rom variant is what i started with and the 9653 variant always produced minor quirky behavior that the 9417 variant did not.

So I take Option 1 94170715 (v7) - Download | Mirror

do the download, extract,

then how do I force my ecu into thinking it's EDM 05, with 6MT?

94170015 is a 03/04 USDM ROM. All you need to do is match the Immobilizer HEX to your current ROM. BTW, immobilizer HEX is not the same as the immmobilizer code.

If you wanna email me, I can help you.

Also, what year is your EVO?
